s AC-Win Enhanced Attendant Console for HiPath 4000 and Hicom 300 E / H The AC-Win 4.0 enhanced attendant console of the HiPath TM 4000 IP conver- gence platform and the Hicom ® 300 E/ H communication server is a Pentium ® PC-based Windows ® application. Depending on the size of the system and the structure of the company or organiza- tion, one or more consoles can be in- stalled and allocated to console groups. The various AC-Win features (up to 60 available) provided are simple to use via a Windows 2000 user interface, enabling an operator, for example, to easily switch external or internal voice calls. The atten- dant can choose from a number of layout operations for the call control window, e.g. for visually impaired people. The op- erator has the option of displaying all calls, i.e. outgoing or incoming calls only in the call journal. Three password-pro- tected authorization levels are available, i.e. user, superuser and administrator. When the operator logs onto the system each day – with password if required – the previously programmed “personal attendant console” appears on the PC screen. The new attendant console can be particularly economical in companies, in which attendants must perform multi- ple tasks. In such cases, work at the at- tendant console is only one task among many others, such as word processing, performed on the PC. When calls arrive, the personal attendant console appears automatically on top and the application in progress moves to the background. The performance of AC-Win can be fur- ther enhanced through the addition of the Plus Package.

AC-Win enhanced attendant console

System conceptThe AC-Win enhanced attendant console is connected to a UP0/E user interface in the HiPath 4000 or Hicom 300 E / H sys-tem via a built-in PCI plug-in card. The handset, headset and, if necessary, the recorded announcement equipment and tape recorder are connected to the PC. The attendant console can be used with any standard commercially available PC and no specific hardware components apart from the UP0/E card are required. The functionality provided by this system is implemented exclusively by means of software.

Switching functionsIncoming calls are signalled either acous-tically or visually on the PC screen. The call can be forwarded by entering the telephone number of the person for whom the call is intended, or by clicking on the stored extension number in a sep-arate window . The attendant can switch back and forth between the different windows which are open at the same time.Other functions such as hold, call pickup, disconnect, switching or call charge dis-play can be activated using the function keys as well as the mouse.

Plus Package (optional)The Plus Package contains the AC-Voice software. AC-Voice can be used to auto-matically repeat a personally recorded message in response to specific types of call (first call, recall, external call, internal call, etc.)

DS-Win directory service (optional)The DS-Win directory service is aWindows® application which enables the rapid forwarding of incoming calls to requested subscribers. The subscribers are searched for in a local Access data-base. As part of the Hicom Domain Man-agement Service (HDMS) or HiPath 4000 Manager, the DS-Win database is auto-matically synchronized with the central HDMS database. It is possible to install DS-Win on the enhanced attendant con-sole along with AC-Win.

Headset

Headset (optional)Attendants who make a large number of calls and at the same time have to cope with other jobs, such as data input, sometimes need a “third hand”. The feather light, plug-in headset comes in handy here.

BLF-Win busy lamp field(optional)The BLF-Win busy lamp field Windows® application displays the status (e.g. free, busy, out of order, ringing, call diverted, etc.) of individual users in the telecom-munication system in different colors in a separate window

The operator can thus check the status of a user before routing a call to him.

A user can be dialed directly from the BLF-Win application at the push of a but-ton if an internal connection to the AC-Win application is established.

The BLF-Win functionality can also be used in DS-Win 2.1. The status of a user highlighted in DS-Win with the highlight bar is determined and displayed with a spontaneous "snapshot" status request.
