ABSTRACT

Integrating Whole Brain Teaching Method in Preschool : A New Phenomenon

English is a second language and a compulsory subject from preschool years up till tertiary levels. In preschool, the teaching of English held a major responsibility on the shoulders of preschool teachers alone. According to Preschool Standard Curriculum, (KSPK, 2010), all preschools must implement 600 minutes of teaching in English. Such practice is done with the hope to prepare preschoolers with early head start towards English language. However, the instructions had left teachers in despair as most of the teachers did not acquire the language proficiency as needed. Since then, more and more courses are done to help them teaching in English in a most comfortable ways. Hence this study intended to suggest the possible way of teaching in English by integrating the Whole Brain Teaching Methods (WBT) especially for preschoolers. The researcher will highlight the reasons why WBT methods is chosen by elaborating its philosophy and principles; the planning; and how it is beneficial to both teachers and students. With such implementation, it is hope to become an aspiring and promising ways of teaching English and teaching in English for other subjects as well.
