Who Am I?

I consider myself to be a caring person, and I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve. When I say I Love You - I MEAN IT!

Who Am I?

I am also not too proud to admit that I am a bit of a nerd and enjoy the occasional cornball humor.

Who Am I?

I LOVE teaching chemistry and I LOVE all of "my kids." They can always make me smile no matter what kind of mood I'm in. I learn just as much from them as they learn from me!

Where Am I From?

I live in Albemarle, NC. It is a very small town located about an hour outside of Charlotte.

I love it here because we have the conveniences of a small city close by but are still able to enjoy the peacefulness of a rural community.

What I Love About Science

I have always had a natural curiosity about life. Science gives me the answers to everything I could ever want to know about.

What I Love About Teaching

I was always told that if you were doing what you loved then you would never have to work a day in

your life. I am happy to say that :

I never have to go to work!

What I Love About Teaching

I get to share my love of chemistry with others and lots of times I get to watch them

fall in love with it too!

Important Issues to Me

Making sure that my students have the same opportunities that students elsewhere have.

Because of budget cuts, we have lost many teaching positions in our county. As a result,

upper level science classes are being dissolved and we have very little money for supplies.

Important Issues to Me

Getting students excited about science!

Because we are located in a very rural area students don’t have every day exposure to the exciting new things that are going on in

the world of science.

Important Issues to Me

I feel that the budget cuts have left many teachers feeling bitter and unappreciated. I

think that it is very important to have teachers who are excited about what they are doing and

who can make that emotion contagious for their students. I hope that somehow we will

find a way to properly compensate educational professionals so that we will continue to have

quality teachers who love what they do.
