From your missionary

I am the vine, you are thebranches. He who abides inme, and I in Him, bears muchfruit; for without me you cando nothing.” John 15:5

I had the opportunity toattend one of the sessions ofthe Evangelism Conferencein Albany. One of thespeakers, Vance Pitman, brought a message that stirred

my heart regarding abiding in Christ. We all have ourideas about what bearing fruit in a Christian’s lifelooks like. One of the things that we forget is that wewill never bear fruit unless we are abiding in Christ. We attempt to do things, and we say that we arebearing fruit. Often times, it is fruit that comes fromwithin our own strength. It’s as if we are saying, lookGod at how much fruit I am bearing. Here issomething that revolutionized my heart when Godspoke to me through the message by Rev. Pitman.Abiding in Christ is the only way we produce thefruit that flows out of our lives that brings glory toGod.

Brother Pitman said we think doing ministry shouldbe our first priority. This is not the top priority. Hesaid our intimacy with Christ should be our firstpriority, and then everything else we do in ministrywill flow from our intimacy with Christ. My desire isthat I abide in Christ everyday and allow the fruit toflow out of my life every day as I have personalintimacy with God.

Please continue to be in prayer for our association. We must continue to pray that God will send revivaland that we will be the association God desires us tobe. Let us stay focused on the task God has given usbecause it is a big task. I love all our churches and pastors. I believe God wants to pour His Spirit outupon us!! Let’s commit to abide in Christ and watchhow God will work in and through our lives and ourchurches!

Baptist DoctrineStudy Apr. 13-18

This six-session Bible studyby Ed Stetzer looks at theparables of Jesus regardingthe kingdom of God.

Subversive Kingdom is apersonal call for Christians toreorient their thinking andlifestyle to match what Jesus

described of His people in Scripture, while teamingup with other believers through their churches tobring light into a dying and darkening culture. Stetzeruses the parables of Christ to unlock the "kingdomsecrets" that bring this mysterious concept withinunderstandable reach, while urging Christians to turnthis knowledge into practical, everyday, ongoingmissions designed to set people free from livesheaded for hopelessness.
