About Rebecca Rebecca was born and raised on her parents' farm 'Redbanks , in Nugent in southern Tasmania. Having built her own home in the electorate she has a personal stake in ensuring the concerns of country people are heard, listened to and acted upon in Hobart. Rebecca is passionate about the opportunities for regional Tasmania and has been a strong advocate for the electorate of Lyons over the past four years. Serving as the Minister for Human Services, Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and the Cost of Living, Rebecca has worked hard to deliver job- creating projects that benefit communities around the State. In the electorate, Rebecca has worked tirelessly to secure funding for a range of sporting and community projects as well as major investments including: • irrigation schemes around Tasmania • upgrades to the Mud Walls Road, the West Tamar Highway and the Arthur Highway; and, ·Child and Family Centres, school buildings and trades training centres Rebecca loves animals and has two dogs, a sheep, a cat and five horses on her rural property in Orielton in South East Tasmania.
