About Peak Imaging

Opening HoursOur reception is open from 8.30am until 4.45pm Monday to Friday.

OrderingPlease quote your customer number if known and provide explicit written instructions that cannot be misinterpreted. To help you we supply our own order pads. In the event that we need to contact you regarding your order, please include your telephone number. We suggest that you give each order a reference number and retain a copy of the order sheet for reference, this will help us to trace your order in the event of a query. The placing of an order confirms your acceptance of our Terms of Business clearly detailed on page 22.

PaymentAll prices quoted exclude VAT. Please remember to add VAT at the current rate.

All work must be paid for in full on collection or delivery. A 50% advance deposit will be requested on orders for goods or services of high value where the customer is not known to us. Payment may be made by credit or debit card. Postal customers without credit facilities should include credit / debit card details with their order.

Credit AccountsOrganisations whose account departments demand official order numbers on all invoices MUST indicate an order number with each job. We cannot guarantee to link confirmatory orders sent later. Any query relating to an invoice must be raised in writing with our accounts department within 21 days of date of invoice. No discussion or adjustment is possible after that time.

Credit accounts are available to customers dealing with us on a regular basis, subject to a minimum average order value of £100 per month. A £5 per month account handling charge will be levied on any order charged to a credit account if the total order value drops below £10 per month. Credit accounts can only be opened after receipt of a bankers reference and two satisfactory trade references. Unless otherwise agreed in writing all credit accounts MUST be settled in full within 30 days of invoice date. The Company reserve the right to charge 2% per month interest on overdue accounts. Credit cards cannot be accepted as payments for accounts.

Collection and Delivery ServiceWe operate a collection and delivery service for regular customers in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield and surrounding areas. Please contact our reception for further details. A charge applies if the order value is below £50.00.

Postage and PackingPostage and packing will be charged at cost on all orders sent via mail subject to a minimum charge of £3.50. All mail orders are returned via first class post. We will, at your request, despatch orders via Special Delivery, Recorded Delivery or Courier. Charges will be made at cost.

Film ProcessingFilms sent for processing should be clearly marked on the order and on the outside of the container, specifying the type of emulsion. This is of particular importance when using sheet film or re-loadable 35mm cassettes. When film is cut from bulk stock please make sure that the film is cut to the exact length or shorter, as over length film can foul the automatic machinery. Films should not be submitted for processing in dark slides, as we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage.

CopyrightOrders for reproduction of photographs etc., are accepted on the strict understanding that the customer holds the copyright. The customer must assume liability for any resulting action brought about by a third party.

We colour and density correct all digital images as standard. If you have calibrated your display to our printing system and do not require any correction, please mark your order clearly "DO NOT OPTIMISE" or tick the appropriate box on the supplied order form.We recommend using the sRGB colour space, however, we can print from any valid colour space.

Embedding a valid ICC profile in your image is very important. Without embedding the profile our software cannot determine which colour space your file is in and may produce an undesirable result. All files not tagged with an embedded profile are assumed to bein sRGB.

For the best possible results, all images should be at the desired size before submission at a resolution of 254ppi (pixels per inch).If you require an odd size, eg 10 x 6, please ensure your image is saved at the required size and mark this custom size clearly on your order. If you request a print size that does not match the ratio of your image, cropping will occur (see example below).

We accept images on a variety of media, including CD, DVD and flash memory (USB / memory card).

Prints from FilmCertain film formats are incompatible with standard industry sizes(e.g. 35mm to 10” x 8” requires substantial cropping).Please select a compatible print size or allow for this when ordering.

When referring to a frame of film please use the number most centralto the frame.

Please ensure that 35mm glass mounted slides submitted for printingare clean on the inside as we cannot dismantle slides.

Colour photography is a subjective medium. If you require us to match a previous order, please include a sample print. Note however, that due to paper batch variations and the limitations of the dyes used in the photographic process it is not always possible to guarantee an exact colour match of guide / sample prints. In the absence of specific instructions we will use our own judgement aiming for a broadly neutral print.

Print SizesSizes shown are in inches and may be fractionally under or over the sizes quoted. All prints (excluding some from digital media and panoramic prints) are trimmed borderless.

Black & White PrintsPlease note that all black & white prints are produced using colour paper. When ordering prints from black and white negatives please use the negative frame number as a reference.

Paper MediaWe have a variety of paper types, each with different printing properties. All of these papers are light sensitive and are chemically processed (not inkjet or dye sublimation), providing a print with unsurpassed image stability.

(Fuji Crystal Archive DPII)A smooth and glossy paper, which accentuates the colour to give a punchy, rich feel, with intense highlight and shadow depth qualities. Ideal for high impact images, commercial and promotional photography.

(Fuji Crystal Archive DPII)The paper is coated with a fine stippled finish and gives a very natural photographic result with subtle colour with a higher tolerance to finger prints. Ideal for wedding, portrait, exhibition, mounted and framed prints.

(Kodak Endura Metallic)Metallic paper has a glossy finish and metallic appearance that creates images with exceptional visual interest and depth. In addition to delivering rich, vibrant colours and flattering flesh tones. Prices are the same as standard prints plus 50%. Metallic paper prints are available from digital media (page 5) and film (page 11).

(Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss)For the ultimate high gloss print making bright, sharp and colourful display prints with huge impact. A durable polyester based print material, with a similar look and feel to Cibachrome prints. With a warm white base colour, giving vividly rich colours. Fujiflex prints are available from digital media (page 6) and from film (page 11).

(Fuji Trans Crystal Archive Professional)Used to produce stunning backlit images for display lightboxes. Rich, highly saturated colours for maximum impact, the opalescent base eliminates the need for lightbox diffusers.

Film processing is the first and most critical element in creating high-quality images.For reliability and consistency we use the very best Refrema processing machinery, operatedand monitored by skilled quality control system.Our naturally soft water helps eliminate drying marks and the use of film hangers rather than rollers ensures a scratch-free environment. That's why top photographers throughout the UK and Europe send their film to Peak Imaging.

Film Speed changesFor the best possible results you should always use the manufacturer's recommended speed rating. However, for a small extra charge we can up-rate E6 film by up to 3 stops or down-rate by a maximum of 1 stop. Should you wish us to up or down-rate film or cross process, you must include clear instructions on both your order and film. We do not recommend speed changes for C41 film.

Your film is processed and the images are printed, includingsprockets in the middle of an 8"x 5" sheet of true photographicpaper in gloss or satin matt.

Ordering

The film type and any special processing instructionsmust be clearly marked on your order sheet and on theoutside of the film container.

TM Our Aluminium Display Panel is created using ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel, commonly known as DiBond ). ACP consists of a dark polyethylene core between two aluminium sheets, chemically and mechanically bonded to provide a 3mm deep, robust, lightweight and optically very flat mounting surface. All materials used are non-acidic for archival excellence.

Where portability and strength are paramount, ACP's non-bowing properties present the ideal mounting substrate for large format photographic display.

Your printed image is mounted to the face of the panel and laminated for protection or texture. A keyholed subframe enhances rigidity and facilitates an easy-hanging, 5mm stand-off effect.

Terms of BusinessRevised and amended March 2013

Peak Imaging Professional is a trading name of Propix Limited.Unit 6, Flockton Park, Holbrook Avenue, Sheffield, S20 3PP

AcceptanceOrders are accepted on the understanding that the following terms of business shall be binding between the customer and Peak Imaging Professional (the Company). Any variation of these terms, which cancel all previous terms of business, must be agreed in writing and signed by a director of the Company.

OrdersOrders placed by the customer must be in writing. Any amendments to orders must be in writing. In the absence of clear written instructions the Company will complete work in accordance with its own understanding of the customer’s requirements. The customer must notify the Company in writing within 7 days of delivery of any dissatisfaction with the service or product provided. Any work rejected by the customer shall remain the property of the Company who reserve the right to charge the customer for any rejected work not returned.

Prices

PaymentAll work must be paid for in full on collection or delivery. A 50% advance deposit will be requested on orders for goods or services of high value where the customer is not known to us. Payment may be made by credit or debit card. Postal customers without credit facilities should include credit / debit card details with their order.

Delivery

CopyrightIt is a criminal offence under the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 to knowingly infringe copyright and it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all material supplied to the Company for processing, copying or reproduction is free from any third party claim of infringement.Orders are only accepted on the clear understanding that:

1. The customer owns the copyright or that the work is out of copyright.2. The customer has the copyright owner’s written consent. In this case the written consent must accompany the order and work supplied.3. The customer indemnifies the Company against all costs, claims, damages and losses of whatsoever nature arising from any action or claim brought by a

third party in respect of alleged infringement of copyright.

LiabilityIt is impossible for the Company to assess the value of originals and unprocessed film supplied by the customer and the charges made for our services do not reflect or incorporate unlimited liability. Whilst every reasonable care will be taken with customer’s property (including originals) and film accepted for processing, the Company’s liability for any loss or damage, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, is limited in the case of any one transaction to the replacement value of any such materials supplied by the customer, such material being accepted only on the clear understanding that their replacement value does not exceed the current retail price of equivalent new materials. Furthermore, the Company shall not be liable in any circumstances for consequential loss, special damages or other indirect loss, however caused. The company shall not be liable for any loss or damage once materials are in transit by a third party, be it Royal Mail or Courier.

InsuranceWhen original materials supplied to us are deemed by the customer to be of extremely high value, this fact must be declared to the Company in writing prior to any work being undertaken. We recommend in all such cases that extra insurance be taken out by the customer to cover the value involved. Any claim against the Company for any consequential loss or damage arising from the above shall be limited to a value not exceeding £50.00. The Company cannot accept liability in excess of that stated and any further loss will be deemed to be the responsibility of the customer and to result from his or her failure to effect adequate insurance cover. If posting, we strongly recommend the use of Special Delivery for items of high value.

Law & Statutory RightsThe contract between the customer and the Company will be subject to English law. The customer’s statutory rights are not infringed by these terms.

All prices are net and exclude VAT which will be added at the appropriate rate. Unless otherwise agreed the price payable by the customer shall be the Company's list price at the date of order. Orders for which prices have been quoted must include the date and the reference number of the quote. In the absence of this information the customer will be charged in accordance with the price list. Additional costs resulting from alterations by the customer to their original instructions will be charged accordingly. Prices in our price guide are subject to revision without notice.

Credit accounts are available to customers dealing with us on a regular basis, subject to a minimum average order value of £100 per month. A £5 per month account handling charge will be levied on any order charged to a credit account if the total order value drops below £10 per month. Credit accounts can only be opened after receipt of a bankers reference and two satisfactory trade references. Unless otherwise agreed in writing all credit accounts MUST be settled in full within 30 days of invoice date. The Company reserve the right to charge 2% per month interest on overdue accounts. Credit cards cannot be accepted as payments for accounts.

Organisations whose account departments demand official order numbers on all invoices MUST indicate an order number with each job. We cannot guarantee to link confirmatory orders sent later. Any query relating to an invoice must be raised in writing with our accounts department within 21 days of date of invoice. No discussion or adjustment is possible after that time.

Local deliveries by our own transport at routine delivery times are not chargeable, provided the order value is £50.00 or above. All other forms of delivery, post, special delivery, courier etc. will be charged out to the customer at cost plus the cost of packaging.
