About our Chapter Bluebonnet Chapter No. 74, is the Austin, TX, chapter of the
International Right of Way Association. Our Chapter was
founded in 1985 by professionals in the right of way field to unite
members for education, to improve service to employers and the
public, and to advance our members within the profession. We
are part of Region 2 of the International Association. Our current
membership includes professionals involved in a wide array of
projects requiring real estate and right of way services.

Welcome to 2013! As most of you know already, the world did
not come to an end on December 21. If you did not get the
memo, I am sorry to have to be the one to break it to you. So
here we are, making plans for the coming year!
2012 was a great year for Chapter 74, leaving a high bar for
those of us on the Board. For such a tiny person, Teri has left
some very big shoes to walk in and is deserving of being the
2012 Professional of the Year! Chapter 74 received an award
for having the highest percentage of credentialed members for
chapters in our size grouping; we earned a free membership
by exceeding our new member goals in the Second Quarter of
the Year; we raised more than $5,000 for Make-A-Wish at our
annual ED Seminar golf tournament (still waiting on the tal-
lies); and we raised $5,000.00 for Operation Blue Santa at the
Installation Banquet in December, just to name a few of the
highlights of the year. I have said it before and I will say it
again, the people of Chapter 74 ROCK!! Each and every one
of you is so very generous!
We have some new faces on the Board this year and have
plans to make our Young Professionals group really take off!
I look forward to introducing you to the Board Members at
our Luncheon on the 8th. If you have not already done so,
please check out our new website. It will keep you informed
of the luncheon schedule, the courses we are offering and any
upcoming events. And, if you so choose, it will have your com-
pany logo displayed for all to see (for a small fee, of course).
In the Right-of-Way department here at NuStar, my boss will
start numerous days by shouting out “What Good Things Are
Going to Happen Today!” She’s not asking a question, she is
making a statement, putting good karma out into the uni-
verse. That is how I want to start out this next year, so here
goes…“What Great Things Are Going to Happen Now!”
