1. Before admission: A physical examination, drug screen, lab testing, a psychosocial assessment and a meeting with our medical director.
2. Following admission: A new-client orientation on topics such as program policies and expectations; the characteristics of methadone and how it works; the nature of addictive disorders, the process of recovery; and HIV and Hepatitis C.
3. Treatment:
We have two treatment options:
• Methadone Maintenance: For individuals who have been addicted (as documented) to opiates for a year or more. Maintenance allows individuals to stay in treatment for as long as needed and as long as the individual adheres to program rules.
• Methadone Detox is a six-month treatment protocol for individuals with less than a year’s opiate addiction. It includes all the services of the maintenance protocol except take- home medications, and is limited to six months in duration by state and federal regulation.
Services for all methadone clients:
• Daily dosing with stable methadone dose monitored by nursing and other staff
• Support group and individual counseling
• Ongoing random drug screens
• Coordination of care and referrals to other services including psychopharmacology,
medical care and inpatient care
Who We Serve:
We serve adult men and women (over 18)
from throughout Essex County, Massachusetts
and beyond.
Clients are assessed by our medical director and
nursing staff to be maintained on an appropriate
dose of methadone.
Once stabilized, clients can start to resolve
problems in other areas of their lives, such as
family, health, housing, employment, legal
and psychological issues.
With the help of
individual and group
counseling, clients
learn healthy coping
skills to manage
their addictions
and other life
problems.
Our Services
We work with members enrolled in all
MassHealth and Commonwealth Care Plans.
We also accept private insurances and
self-pay clients who pay a weekly fee.
Some individuals may qualify for a sliding
scale fee.
