One of the main problems with Solar powered Telco base stations is the theft of the Solar PV

Panels. Our panels are unique, because we can brand it with the client’s name embedded in the PV

Panel, so that if stolen, it cannot be sold to somebody else and it is also marked during

manufacturing with Microdot Asset Tracking Technology. We also make use of galvanized U-Tube

frames for our PV Panels.

See attached some examples of out Telco Projects and some detail info on our special DC Air

conditioners.

We have done the complete project, 4200 Watt of Solar panels, 6KVA Bi-directional

Inverter, 1660 Ahr battery bank, Telco container and Standby mobile diesel Generator.

As part of the project we have also supplied the 45 meter Lattice Mast with all civil works.

We have done the complete project, 1050 Watt of Solar panels, 1KVA Pure Sine wave

Inverter, 630 Ahr 24VDC battery bank and Telco Container.

As part of this project we have also supplied the 45 meter Lattice Mast with all civil works.

We have done the complete project, 840 Watt of Solar panels, 1KVA Pure Sine wave

Inverter, 525 Ahr 24VDC battery bank and Mobile Telco Container.

As part of this project we have also supplied the 12m Lockable Telescopic Mast that can handle

a mast load of 64 Kg.

DC Airco products help Safaricom lower fuel costs for remote telecommunications sites, and preserve the

environment. Safaricom Kenya , a joint venture of Vodafone and Telecom Kenya , has achieved excellent results with fuel savings on remote

telecommunications BTS sites (GSM base stations) using DC Airco products.

Safaricom has converted several generator powered sites into 100% solar/wind powered sites. See pictures below (Faze Island, Kenya)

On other remote BTS sites generators are running 24/7 to power the normal air conditioners. By replacing these air conditioners for DC

Airco’s the running hours went down to less than 10 hours a day, creating enormous fuel savings. The payback time was only 5 months!

In September 2007 Safaricom has selected 64 diesel powered sites to be converted into renewable sites using 3 DC Airco’s DC 10.000 on

each site. One unit is used to cool the battery room, and two units for the BTS room (one on / one off) For sites were there is not

enough wind the generators will be used in conjunction with DC 10000 Air Conditioners.

The key feature of the DC 10000 is a 2-3 times lower power consumption compared with other air conditioners and there is no high

start up current.

When used on a diesel powered site the generators can be much smaller because of these facts. The DC 10000 is using DC Airco’s special

low consumption system also used in truck and railway systems.

Next to the fuel and material savings there is also a big saving for the environment!

Safaricom hosted a conference in September 2007 showing other Vodafone joint ventures in neighbouring countries how to cut down

fuel costs and saving the environment.

The partners believe that using DC Airco products on normal grid powered sites will give good results to. Instead of 3 phase only single

phase power is needed. In case of a power black-out the installation will work 100% off the batteries. Also the DC Air Conditioners have

proven to be more reliable than the 230 volt AC Air Conditioners used at this moment.

DC Airco continues to develop new products for the truck, railways and telecommunications market.
