Aisin Welcomes!
AUM welcomes our new Occupational
Nurse, Jackie Day! Over the past 30 years,
Jackie has worked in a hospital, physician’s office, an Occupational Health Center and in manufacturing facilities helping people. She is married with 3 grown children, one of whom works here at AUM. Jackie is the proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren and loves to spend time with them and watching NASCAR. Let’s give her a warm welcome to AUM!
AUM recycled 368 tons January-May of 2013! This turned into $63,324 of revenue.
Congratulations! We would like to encourage everyone to continue to recycle. The proper
recycling receptacles can be found throughout AUM. Thanks for everyone’s participation!
AUM will be sponsoring blood drives this year. Indiana Blood
Center must see at least 620 volunteer blood donors each day
to ensure a safe and adequate blood supply for Hoosier
Hospitals which includes Schneck Medical Center, Columbus Regional Health, IU Health Ri-
ley Hospital for Children, and the IU Simon Cancer, Center just to name a few. Each year
Schneck Medical Center uses over 2,500 blood products supplied by Indiana Blood Center,
yet only 800 of these units are donated locally in Jackson County.
Most people are eligible to donate. There are very few causes for deferral and very few
medications that are not acceptable. Donors cannot be taking antibiotics for infection.
Cancer patients must be one year cancer free. Heart patients must be 6 months symptom
free. Diabetics can donate. It is recommended that donors have
a light snack before donating. DO NOT FAST– feel free to have
some of our juice and cookies. Be sure to bring your picture ID!
The entire process of donating takes less than an hour. Tests for
cholesterol, blood pressure, blood type, and iron are included in
your donation. Indiana Blood Center will be onsite so please
check for postings of upcoming blood drives!
15 Shoku-Chos participated in Ivy Tech training at AHA. The training course was held on 4 Wednesdays from 3-5PM. They participated in hands on activities and covered subjects such as time/stress management, team member engagement, and morale. We would like to congratulate our Shoku-Chos for completing their training!
