INDUSTRY PROFILE

Humidification is simply the addition of water to air. Improper humidity levels (either too high or too low) can cause discomfort for people and damage many kinds of equipment and materials. Conversely, the proper type of humidification equipment can help you achieve effective, economical and trouble-free control of humidity. Dry air can cause a variety of costly, troublesome and sometimes dangerous problems, especially when you are processing or handling hygroscopic materials such as wood, paper, textile fibers, leather or chemicals. Dry air or fluctuating humidity can cause serious production problems and/or material deterioration. Dry air can also adversely affect hygroscopic materials in museums, schools, banks, churches and office buildings. In dry atmospheric conditions static electricity can interfere with efficient operation of production machinery, computers and other office machines. Where static-prone materials such as paper, films, computer disks and other plastics are handled, dry air aggravates the static problem. In potentially explosive environments, dry air and its resultant static electricity can be extremely dangerous.

Most people think of humidification systems as small, portable units that can be used in a home to combat dry air during the winter months, or hot, arid air during the summer months. However, humidification systems are not just for home use. Humidifiers are also useful for dust suppression or improving food safety. Commercial and industrial humidifiers are used in many factories and large corporations to protect product and maintain optimal conditions for employees and other staff members. Without a proper level of humidity in a work or manufacturing space, product can be damaged, machinery can fail to operate appropriately, and employees can be harmed, or become susceptible to respiratory illness caused by airborne inhalants or foreign particles.

Cold storage humidification systems provide for the safe transport and storage of food items, as the produce or products can be kept at constant temperature, with optimal airflow and appropriate moisture levels. Proper humidification can have a huge impact on the quality of a work environment, the quality of the product produced in that environment, and the quality of food that is served to those people working in that environment. In short, investing in an appropriate humidification system is an investment in the improvement of your companys bottom line.

HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT

Company Profile - Aero Based Control Systems Private LimitedAero Based Control Systems Private Limited is a Silver Jubilee organization on Humidification and Ventilation System incorporated on 17 September 1990. They are a technology based organization exclusively in design, manufacturing and commissioning of humidification system for textile manufacturing unit. Moisture plays a very significant role in production and preservation of any hygroscopic / moisture sensitive product. Uncontrolled conditions of temperature and humidity in a production environment lead to drastic moisture loss from products under production process which dries up the product leading to excessive wastage, low productivity , inferior quality and staff discomfort.Requirements of modern high speed production techniques/ up gradation of manufacturing equipment lead to increase in internal plant heat loads , often resulting in the need of better control of humidity levels in the plant environment, as the existing plant humidification systems are often incapable to meet these increased demands. Adding more capacity to the inherently inefficient humidification plants can be very costly and useless, and often practically not possible in a running mill. Humidification in textile manufacturing has many benefits that will enhanceprofitability:Product weight - preventing moisture loss during a textiles processing and storage can reduce weight loss from a typical 4% to just 0.5%. Yarn quality - correct humidification will maintain yarn strength and elasticity, producing a better quality product with higher margins. Wastage is also reduced through a reduction in shedding.Static control -Static can cause reduced productivity and product quality due to lint and fly attraction, machine jams and employee discomfort or even accidents. Higher humidity naturally dissipates static charges alleviating these problems.Weaving efficiency- optimal humidification reduces yarn breakages in weaving, reducing machine downtime as well as loom stop marks and weavers knots in the finished product.Employee comfort -humidifiers can deliver around 5C of evaporative cooling to a textile production facility, while suppressing dust, fly and lint. This creates a healthier and more productive atmosphere for employees.Benefits of humidification in textile manufacturing include: Extensive expertise around the world with many textile manufacturers Comprehensive product range to precisely meet customers' requirements Ability to provide innovative proven solutions for all textile processes Comprehensive service of expert advice, design, supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance and spares supply Increased production efficiencies, reduced waste and increased profits Healthier and more comfortable atmosphere to increase staff productivity and reduce accidents

S.W.O.T. ANALYSIS

The SWOT analysis provides information that is helpful in matching the firm's resources and capabilities to the competitive environment in which it operates. As such, it is instrumental in strategy formulation and selection. The following diagram shows how a SWOT analysis fits into an environmental scan:Swot Analysis Framework

Environmental Scan

Internal AnalysisExternal Analysis

StrengthsWeaknesses OpportunitiesThreats

SWOT Matrix

STRENGTHSA firm's strengths are its resources and capabilities that can be used as a basis for developing a competitive advantage. Examples of such strengths include: patents strong brand names good reputation among customers cost advantages from proprietary know-how exclusive access to high grade natural resources favorable access to distribution networksSTRENGTHS WEAKNESSES

Opportunities S-O strategies W-O strategiesThreats S-T strategies W-T strategies

WEAKNESSESThe absence of certain strengths may be viewed as a weakness. For example, each of the following may be considered weaknesses: lack of patent protection a weak brand name poor reputation among customers high cost structure lack of access to the best natural resources lack of access to key distribution channelsIn some cases, a weakness may be the flip side of a strength. Take the case in which a firm has a large amount of manufacturing capacity. While this capacity may be considered a strength that competitors do not share, it also may be a considered a weakness if the large investment in manufacturing capacity prevents the firm from reacting quickly to changes in the strategic environment.

OPPORTUNITIES

The external environmental analysis may reveal certain new opportunities for profit and growth. Some examples of such opportunities include: an unfulfilled customer need arrival of new technologies loosening of regulations removal of international trade barriers

THREATSChanges in the external environmental also may present threats to the firm. Some examples of such threats include: shifts in consumer tastes away from the firm's products emergence of substitute products new regulations increased trade barrier

THE S.W.O.T. MATRIXA firm should not necessarily pursue the more lucrative opportunities. Rather, it may have a better chance at developing a competitive advantage by identifying a fit between the firm's strengths and upcoming opportunities. In some cases, the firm can overcome a weakness in order to prepare itself to pursue a compelling opportunity. To develop strategies that take into account the SWOT profile, a matrix of these factors can be constructed. The SWOT matrix (also known as a TOWS Matrix) is shown below:SWOT / TOWS Matrix S-O strategies pursue opportunities that are a good fit to the company's strengths. W-O strategies overcome weaknesses to pursue opportunities. S-T strategies identify ways that the firm can use its strengths to reduce its vulnerability to external threats. W-T strategies establish a defensive plan to prevent the firm's weaknesses from making it highly susceptible to external threats.
