Fire Safety

• First Grade Students• Total of Eighteen Students• Twelve are White; Six are African

American• 10 boys and 8 girls• No learning disabilities• Hands On and Visual learners

Analyze the Learner

Main ObjectiveFirst grade students will recite at least three fire safety rules. Students will do so by

learning to recognize warning sounds and signs of a fire by creating a fire safety poster and students will look, touch, and hear a smoke detector. Students will learn how to call the emergency number 911 by listening and participating in a song. Students will learn the Stop, Drop, and Roll procedure by watching a video and participating in a role play game. Students will learn the escape plan for a fire drill by having a planned fire drill. Students will acquire at least 1-2 important duties of a firefighter by listening to the

firefighters talk about what they do and making fire hats pretending to be firefighters. First grade students will have a five day time frame. All eighteen first grade students will

participate, and it will be a one hundred percent degree of accuracy.
