This is a true story...........

An old, bearded shepherd, with a crooked staff, walks up to a stone pulpit and says:. . . And lo it came to pass that the trader by the name of Abraham Com did take untohimself a young wife by the name of Dot. And Dot Com was a comelywoman, broad of shoulder and long of leg. Indeed, she had been called Amazon DotCom. And she said unto Abraham, her husband, "Why doth thou travel far, from townto town, with thy goods when thou can trade without ever leaving thy tent?"And Abraham did look at her as though she were several saddle bags short of acamel load, but simply said, "How, Dear?" And Dot replied, "I will place drums in allthe towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale andthey will reply telling you which hath the best price. And the sale can be made on thedrums and delivery made by Uriah's Pony Stable (UPS)". Abraham thought long anddecided he would let Dot have her way with the drums. And the drums rang out andwere an immediate success. Abraham sold all thegoods they had, at the top price, withoutever moving from his tent.But his successdid arouse envy. A man named Maccabiadid secrete himself inside Abraham's drumand was accused of insider trading. And theyoung did take to Dot Com's trading as doththe greedy horsefly take to camel dung. Theywere called Nomadic Ecclesiastical RichDominican Siderites, or NERDS for short.And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at thenew riches, and the deafening sound of drums,that no one noticed that the real riches were going to the drum maker, one BrotherWilliam of Gates, who bought up every drum company in the land.. And indeed didinsist on making drums that would only work if you bought Brother Gates' drum-sticks. And Dot did say, "Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over byothers”. And as Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel, or as it came to beknown, "eBay", he said, "We need a name of a service that reflects what we are",and Dot replied, "Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators".

"Whoopee!" said Abraham.

Hello Grotto Family,

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and that you are staying well. That flu bughas been flying around a lot.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all your help at the Christmas Party. It was sonice to have so many dressing clowns. The new Clowns were a big hit. It was a great timeand a huge party. There were no extra gifts this year so I really appreciate everyone forRSVP’s. We weren’t expecting that big of a crowd, it was awesome.

The next meeting will be January 11th at 1.00pm. We will have an electionof officers for the new year. Please try to make it.

Your email address is very important, as this is how the Abbas newsletter is sentout. The newsletter is also posted on the Abbas Grotto website, abbasgrotto.com

Gate & Front Door Codes

Make sure and keep your 2014 dues card with the current gate and front door codes be-cause they will still be good until March 2015. After March 2015 the gate and door codeswill change to the codes listed on the back of the 2015 dues card.
