AquaMaster 3 transmitters have 3 power modes based on specific customer and energy usage requirements:

- Mains power with back-up- Battery power- External/renewable (solar/wind) energy

Mains powerAquaMaster 3 mains-only transmitter is supplied with a built-in rechargeable power source. There are no batteries to replace and the unit can perform >10,000 recharge cycles. This product can also operate in continuous GSM mode. In the event of mains interruption, continuous measurement is maintained and alarms are reported via GSM protocols for up to 5 days.

Short, straight upstream pipe lengths – what’s the problem?Because AquaMaster 3 has an innovative sensor geometry, it operates perfectly in any orientation, so you get flow sensing exactly where you want it. In addition the location has little impact on performance, enabling zero diameter upstream and downstream straight pipe lengths.

Why don’t we do it in the road?Upgraded with new durable plastic housing, the submersible, fully digital display can be integral to the rugged sensor or up to 200 meters away. When installed under the highway, AquaMaster 3 can still be connected remotely from a convenient, roadside location.

Battery powerAquaMaster 3 is available with a number of battery power options. An external Manganese Alkaline battery pack with a temperature range 0°C – 45°C (32° – 113°F) and a typical 5 year battery life OR a lithium Battery option for high temperature applications above 45°C and where 10 year battery life is essential. The battery can be changed-out without loss of logger contents, using a ‘SuperCap’ to sustain the logger.

OIML R49 and MID approvedWith the use of proven technology, and covering sizes from DN40 to DN300, as well as mains, battery and renewable energy (solar/wind) transmitter variances, ABB has achieved OIMl R49 Class 1 and Class 2 and MID approval for any pipe orientation. The OIMl approval for zero diameter upstream and downstream straight pipe lengths means that AquaMaster 3 can be installed effectively in any location.

Renewable energy (solar/wind power)The sun and wind can meet all our energy needs provided that we rationally exploit them. Thanks to AquaMaster 3, it is now possible to access this energy source – and, naturally, it’s free, clean and inexhaustible.

How does AquaMaster 3 achieve this? By utilising a simple DC (6-21V) connection from units as small as a 5W solar panel/wind generator. Renewable power sources provide continuous access to GSM communication when renewable power is being generated, increasing the sampling rate and enhancing measurement accuracy and quality.

The rechargeable ‘SuperCap’ can power the transmitter at night or during an interruption in power for up to 3 weeks (dependant on operating conditions). GSM communications will revert to powering up once a day to conserve energy.

Zero maintenanceAquaMaster 3 has no moving parts, so nothing wears out. Hence, no maintenance costs.

Unobstructed flowAquaMaster 3’s advanced sensor design means there is an unobstructed flow of water through it and particles will not gather to block it. The result is a negligible loss of flow pressure.

No chambersAquaMaster 3 is as robust, rugged and durable as its predecessor, so it can be fully buried or submerged without expensive, time-consuming chamber construction.

Continuity of application AquaMaster 3 delivers total accuracy and reliability in the long term. The option of renewable energy or a 10 year battery life means uninterrupted service even in remote locations where there might not be a suitable power source.

AutoChart - harnessing the power of the webBy integrating AutoChart with AquaMaster 3 Quad Band GSM/SMS, this instrument takes water flow analysis to higher levels of performance and convenience. Using powerful web-based graphical and data management tools, AutoChart uses data provided at the meter and delivers clear, concise decision driving information - all accessed through a simple future-proofed subscription service rather than expensive software investment. A simple comparison

AquaMaster 3 has been engineered for revenue specific metering, combining the technical benefits of an electromagnetic flow meter with all the convenience of a mechanical one. It maximizes revenue recovery, via enhanced calibration and it’s ability to accurately gauge both very high and very low flow rates, with no interruption to flow.

There is little risk of mechanical breakdown, even in the toughest conditions, so it can manage and measure emergency flows, such as those around the scene of a fire. With communication options that include RS232, RS485 with Modbus and integrated Quad Band GSM, there is very little that be thrown at the instrument that it cannot overcome, or to stop it being used as an intelligent interface device.

In a word, elemental!AquaMaster 3 installs its own intelligence, to give you what we call ‘Fit & Flow’. The flow sensor stores intelligence regarding a number of elemental factors, from the site settings to serial numbers that are usually required during installation, maintenance or replacement. So sensor and display are matched automatically, making these field processes fast, easy and error-free. In addition, volume totalizer values are fully backed-up in the sensor.
