2015 YOUTH LIVESTOCK SALE – LARGE ANIMAL Before the Sale: Please register your business or yourself at the Livestock Sale registration table -- You will be given a sale order list and buyer number. At the Sale: Seating will be reserved for buyers. This year’s sale order is: beef, sheep, swine. Bidding is done on a cents per pound basis according to the live weight stated in the sale order list. For example: 1200 lb. steer bid at $1.00 = $1200.00. During the Auction: Buyers may donate an animal back to the sale for the building fund. If you wish to donate your animal back, please let the ring man or auctioneer know immediately after the initial bidding. An animal may be donated back only once and will be permanently sold after the second sale. The original purchase price paid for the animal is paid to the exhibitor and the second purchase price is placed in the building fund administered by the Kenosha County Livestock Sales Team. After Your Purchase: A 4-H member will bring your sales receipt to you – please do not move from your seat until they have found you. You must sign the sales receipt acknowledging your purchase and designate the name of the locker plant or stockyards. If you are having the animal processed, please contact the locker plant the week following the fair. If you are shipping the animal to the stockyards, a check for the animal based on market price, will be sent directly to you the week following the fair. When you have finished purchasing animals for the day, please proceed to the cashier’s table to pay for your purchases or to receive a statement to be paid in 10 days. Checks should be made payable to “Kenosha Co. Livestock Sales Team.” ALL SALES ARE FINAL. After the Sale: Livestock will be released Sunday night. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to care for and feed the animal until that time. On Sunday evening, the responsibility becomes that of the buyer.
