The Basketball Game

The scoreboard says “Home 52 Away 50” with one minute on the clock.They’re people in the crowds.

The gym is packed.You can hear people yelling all sorts of stuff in the stands.They’re cheering, yelling at other people, celebrating.Coaches are screaming instructions ferociously.The fans are jumping up and down like crazy.

Coaches are thinking in frustration.Players are either pumped up or angry.Some people in the stands are parents.

Some are fans, some are random people, and some are scouters.There are teammates on the bench encouraging each other.

The opposing bench is frustrated with all of the noise.The home team is feeling excitement.The crowd is filled with desperation.

But the whole gym is excited to see who will win the game.The students that came to watch the game are cheering chants.

“Lets Go Wildcats!”The crowd gets louder as the game progresses.If you look into the stands, the crowd is wild.

 

 

The TMS LifeAt Taylor Middle School, the sky is blue

People are playing on the basketball courts.A lot of people are sitting on the green fields.

You can hear everyone at the school talking to eachother.People shooting basketballs.

BRRINNG is the noise you hear when a basketball hits the backboard.Some people sitting down on the floor eating their yummy lunches.

Some are just walking around the whole entire school talking with their friends.Kids are yelling because they missed a shot.

I basically know everyone that enjoys playing the game of basketball.I’m friends with everyone that eats lunch around me.

I make random people laugh at my jokes.Everyone always has an awesome time during lunch.There are many things to do at Taylor Middle School.

Play sports, talk with you friends.Eat food, enjoy their time, and laugh is all we do.

You can even go to the library to enjoy reading books.Or you can access the computer and play fun games.

Many sports are played at Taylor Middle School.Football, basketball, lacrosse, and soccer. 

 

Just Because I’m Chinese

Just because I’m Chinese.It doesn’t mean I always get straight A’s.

Doesn’t mean I have small eyes.Doesn’t mean I have no eyelids.

Look through me and judge me by how I am.

I understand the frustration of not completing a goalI say people should all be treated equally

The Squirrel

It was a normal Saturday, I was laying on the couch watching cartoons with my little sister. Then, my parents yelled out “We’re going the the Academy of Sciences!” My sister and I jumped off the couch with excitement and cheered. We took a shower, brushed our teeth, changed our clothes, got our accessories, and got in the car. While wedrove to the Academy of Sciences for the first time, me and my sister couldn’t stop talking about what we might see there.

When we got there, we couldn’t find a parking spot so my sister got really depressed. We drove around the parking lot for about ten minutes and finally found a parking spot. My sister was so happy and couldn’t stop asking about what was inside. We approached the front door, paid for our tickets, and got a stamp on our hands. When wefirst walked in, i was amazed. My sister and I were surprised at what was inside because we never knew these thingsexisted. We saw dinosaur bones, creative art, live unique animals, experiments, and we got to go inside a planetariumand watch how the Earth was made. That was the best day ever. My favorite part was seeing the live animals and doingthe hands on events. I saw a white crocodile that looked very old. He barely moved and looked dead. After I visited allof the animals, I went to an attractive hands on event. The objective was to try to make a building that could withstand abig earthquake. My building lasted a 8.0 quake. When the day was finally over, we had to leave. My family was exhausted. 

But before we left I was thirsty so my parents bought me a bottle of Gatorade and a little snack. When we werewalking through an aisle of trees a squirrel suddenly jumped out of no where and stopped me. I looked around to see ifanyone else saw what just happend. Then I glanced into the trees and saw more squirrels just sitting there staring atme. I tried going around it but it didn’t let me. I got really scared and started yelling at the squirrel to let me pass. But, ofcourse, it didn’t listen to me. I was afraid that the squirrel would never let me go to my parents again.  I started crying tomy parents and they said to just walk right over it. I disagreed with them because I was afraid i might hurt the squirrel.Finally, a stranger scared all of the squirrels away. I ran to my parents and hugged them while I was crying. I was soembarrassed because I saw a lot of people laughing at me. I couldn’t wait to go home. When we finally got home, I wentstraight to my room and layed out on the bed. I wished that had never happened. Even though I was super embarrassed, that was the most fun day I’ve ever had.

 

The Basketball Hoop

“Today is my first day of basketball practice!”  Isaiah said excitedly. He woke up early in the morning,

took a shower, brushed his teeth, put on his new jersey, slipped on his brand new basketball shoes and 

headed to the gym with his best friend, Anthony. The new team walked in to the gym and realized that a 

basketball hoop is missing. The coach was furious. He raised his voiced, and said “Why would anyone 

steal a basketball hoop!” He was so mad you could almost see all of his veins pop out of his body. After ten

minutes of the coach yelling and screaming, he told Isaiah and Anthony to find out who did it.

Isaiah and Anthony searched all over the gym to find clues. Suddenly, they found a piece of latex 

near the exit door! They ran to Anthony’s house, which was right across the street from the gym, and 

grabbed tweezers and a ziploc bag from his room drawer. They ran as fast as a cheetah back to the gym, 

carefully picked up the black piece of latex with the tweezers, and gently put it into the ziploc bag. Then the 

college students drove their nice looking 2013 Nissan Skyline GTR to the police station. They parked inside

the busy parking lot in front of the huge building. Isaiah and Anthony walked into the police station and 

reported that there was a stolen basketball hoop at the Hawaii Pacific University and gave the policeman the

evidence. The next day Five­O did some research and found out the only place that sells that type of latex is

in Oahu which is sixteen and a half miles away from Honolulu. They drove to the shop named “Bob’s 

Hardware Store” and spoke to the clerk.

“Has anyone bought any of your black latex gloves lately?” the cop said.

“Yes, infact, someone bought one a couple of hours ago” the clerk said awkwardly. That meant the 

thief stole the hoop not too long ago. The officer asked for all of the credit card receipts. There was his 

name, Edwand Chester. They rushed back to the station and searched his name up. The only person living 

on the islands with the name of Edwand Chester lived in Maui. They located the address. It was on 11 Jabari

Street. They sent four armed police cars with two brave officers in each car. Once they got there, they 

knocked on the mysterious house’s door. A woman answered. It was his girlfriend.

“Hi, is Edwand Chester home?” said an officer.

“Not at this moment. Can I help you?” said his girlfriend. The cop told her the news and she was 

devastated. She said that he was out at a bar called “The Hangout”.

The police raced over to the bar. A cop yelled out furiously “Where is Edwand Chester?!” Edward 

approached the cop. He was about five foot ten inches with a skinny body and short, black hair. The Five­O 

quickly grabbed him and put handcuffs on him aggressively. The cop said the Miranda warning and shoved

him into the car. When they finally arrived at the huge police station, he was investigated. The police found 

out he didn’t mean to do it because he was drunk at the time. He was fined 2,000 dollars to help pay for the 

reconstruction of the basketball hoop and was charged with a felony and had to spend three months in the 

Honolulu jail. Anthony and Isaiah were each rewarded 500 dollars for helping with the investigation. Four 

months later, the basketball hoop was restored and the basketball team was able to play again. Thanks to 

Anthony and Isaiah, Hawaii Pacific University won the state championship at the same gym where they 

found that little piece of delicate latex.

The Rush

Act 1

 I’m gonna be in big trouble today if what Joe is saying is really true. Earlier he said that my mom was calling and hepicked up the phone. He said that my mom is visiting me today at 5:12 p.m. My house is a mess! If she she comes in and sees how messy it is she’ll move back in with me. I wanna prove to my mom that I can take care of myself. Ugh, but I need toget my kids out of the way first because they’ll just make things even worse. Wait a second… most of the mess isn’t even from me!! I’m gonna kill Joe and Jess when they come home. How can they just leave a mess and expect me to clean up forthem?! In the living room, Jess has all of his guitar accessories on the couches. Joe has his hair products all over the place inthe bathroom. My kid’s rooms are filled with garbage and toys. Anyway, my point is that if i don’t clean the house up before mymom comes home, I’m gonna be in a world of misery.

Act 2

Michelle: Daddy, grandma is coming todayDan: Wait, WHAT?Michelle: Grandma called three yesterdays agoDan: Well, honey, why didn’t you tell me when she called?Michelle: Because you never asked daddy.*Dan sighs*Dan: Sweety, from now on, please tell me when someone calls ok?Michelle: Ok*Joe comes down to the kitchen from his room*Joe: Oh ya, Dan, your mom is coming todayDan: What?Joe: Your… Mom… Is… Coming… Today…Dan: No, no, i know that part, but why didn’t you bother to ever tell me?!Joe: Because you never bothered to ask.*Dan slaps his own forehead*Dan: Oh… My… Gosh… You know what, just help me clean the house up before my mom comes.Joe: But I need to…*Dan interrupts Joe*Dan: Hah, you're not going anywhere. You’re staying here and helping me clean the mess.*Joe sighs*Dan: Lets clean the kitchen firstJoe: Fine, whatever.*Joe starts doing the laundry while Dan washes the dishes*Dan: and when is my mom coming?Joe: At 5:12Dan: We have plenty of time then.Joe: Umm… We ran out of laundry detergent.*Dan breathes very deeply in frustration*Dan: Let’s go get some then. We still have a lot of time.

Dan: Holy smokes! The living room is spotlessJoe: Told ‘yaDan: Now help me finish cleaning the bathroom.Joe: Ugh. FineDan: Cleanup jess’s hair products. I’ll reorganize the cabinets.Joe: Ok boss.*Dan’s mom and his kids come home*Dan’s Mom: Dan! Joe! Are you done cleaning?*Dan and Joe rush downstairs*Dan: Yup! You can check every single place in the house*Dan’s mom checks every where in the house*Dan’s Mom: You are right.Dan: Told yaDan’s Mom: I guess I don’t have to move in with you after all.

Act 3

As you can see. This is how I proved to my mom that I can be very responsible. Even Though I’m very relieved that mymom isn’t moving in with me, I’m still very mad at Joe and Jess. I don’t understand why they just leave a mess in MY houseand not bother to clean it up. But, I guess I could forgive Joe because he helped me clean up the house. Overall, today was agreat day. I got to prove to my mom that I am responsible,  my kids got to have some bonding time with their grandma, and Igot to see my lovely mom.
