Brief History Flagship TVET institution of The Bahamas
The first technical school was established in 1949 (Nassau Technical School)
Several name changes over the decades including:
- The Industrial Training Centre (ITC) - 1980- The Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute
(BTVI) - 1995
We became semi-autonomous in 2013. We have a 10-member Board chaired by Felix Stubbs.
BTVI TodayComprises of three campuses:
1. Main campus in Nassau,N.P.
2. Satellite campus in Freeport, Grand Bahama
3. Satellite campus in Marsh Harbour, Abaco

Requirements for admission 16 years or older
Grade ‘C’ or above In Math & English BJC’s for certificate and diploma programmes
Grade ‘C ’ or above in Math & English BGCSE to gain entry into AAS programmes
We offer six Associate of Applied Science degrees:
1) Business Office Technology
2) Electronics Engineering Installers and Repairers
3) Construction Technology Management
4) Office Administration
5) Information Technology Management
6) Information Technology Management Security and Server Plus
