CONF ALLB. REASON

(1) HistoryThis Service Bulletin is a result of a Quality Survey Report (QSR) raised when some x-fixation brackets of the Over-Head Stowage Compartment (OHSC) were found missingor installed at 180 deg. in the wrong direction in a production aircraft.

(2) Objective/ActionThis inspection Service Bulletin mandatory to perform a Special Detailed Inspection(SDI) of the x-fixation brackets of the OHSC. Missing brackets shall be installed andbrackets in the incorrect position shall be removed and reinstalled in the correctdirection.

(3) AdvantagesAccomplishment of this Service Bulletin will allow to detect missing or incorrectlyinstalled x-fixation brackets and restore the OHSC to its initial design configuration.

(4) Operational/Maintenance ConsequencesNone

(2) Accomplishment TimescaleAccomplishment of this Service Bulletin must be done within 18 months from the issuedate of this Service Bulletin.This Service Bulletin has been classified Recommended. It is expected that anAirworthiness Directive (AD) published by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)will be issued to change this classification to Mandatory. It is anticipated that the ADwill confirm the (thresholds and/or intervals and/or date) given but reference shouldbe made to the AD for confirmation of the mandated accomplishment timescale.

L. INDUSTRY SUPPORT INFORMATIONAIRBUS will credit the man-hours indicated in this Service Bulletin for inspections that areperformed on aircraft in warranty at the time of such inspection. Credit will be at the agreedin-house warranty labor rate. Claims for labor allowance should be received no later than 90days after completion of the last affected warranted aircraft.For those aircraft in warranty at the time of such inspection with findings further toinspection as per this Service Bulletin:

- AIRBUS will credit the man-hours indicated in this Service Bulletin for correctionsthat are performed on aircraft in warranty at the time of such correction. Credit willbe at the agreed in-house warranty labor rate. Claims for labor allowance should bereceived no later than 90 days after completion of the last affected warranted aircraft.

- AIRBUS will share the costs of accomplishment of this Service Bulletin by crediting theoperator supplied AIRBUS parts for orders placed within 2 years after the initial issuedate of the Service Bulletin. Claims for this allowance should be received no later than90 days after completion of the last affected aircraft of your fleet.
