Dialogue in the first scene would be a simple voice over with something along the lines of ‘Deep in the Forest’. The image of the house blacks out to the next scene. The music in the background is initially something sweet, but still freaky (Celtic Circle – Mystic Dreams). From the previous scene the next scene fades in from the black. The second scene introduces the characters’ feet, they’re walking and the sound is of footsteps crunching on the leaves and twigs. The camera then goes from the bottom of their feet and circles the two characters until it reaches their face. We see the children look up and listen to a man (their Dad) talking, telling them to go and forage for any food they can find, but after a while he leaves them there (we hear his footsteps going awayThis is like the idea from most cartoons were you never see the parents’ face, and instead just see their bodies and hear there voice.

In this scene the two kids have realised that they are alone, and our Hansel is consoling Gretel (holds her hands). All of a sudden sound of snapping twigs can be heard. The two characters swish their heads around, and gasp. From here the music becomes louder and with a stronger faster beat, ‘MARS STUDIOS PRESENTS’ appears. The writing for this is made out of twigs and on either a leafy background (like the ground) or in a black background.

From here the music is continuously fast paced, we see the characters running in the ‘forest’ (like in Snow White) and the camera will also be running around them, and from behind and in front of them. Throughout the running scenes there will be text in between.

After all the major running, there’s silence. And the music slows down, and perhaps goes back to the soft music it was before. The witches house is in view, we hear Hansel & Gretel breathing heavily but we cannot see them for a while. Then we see them getting ready to find what’s in the house, their hearts thudding. They slowly walk to the house that they’ve seen and the door creaks open. The camera then quickly zooms in to this open door, and a face of a lady is shown (the witches) and her face is partially hidden by her cloak and the dark lighting that surrounds her, which could connote that she is an evil being.

The final images are the title images, so ‘Hansel and Gretel’ in a black background that has faded in from the previous scene. Then the ‘Coming Soon’ appears either replacing the title, or under it.There will also be information on who’s acting, and background information at the bottom of the screen.

TRAILER SYNOPSIS

LOCATION ONE

This was one of the ideas for locations that we had. It’s near Bayswater and to the North of Hyde Park.It would be perfect since it’s small, and the houses/buildings in the area were hidden by the trees and plants, but we decided against it since no admittance was allowed, and because it’s a private property.

LOCATION TWO

This ‘cottage’ was another idea we had for our witches’ house. It’s small and looks like a fairy tale kind of house. It’s located near Horse Guards Parade, and it’s in St James’ Park.
