A Trip to the Moon is an old black and white movie which was done in 1990. This movie is a

French black and white science fiction movie which its title is also knows at Le Voyage dans

la lune. This film was produced and directed by George Melies who was a French illusionist

and filmmaker, famous for most development in the early days of cinema.

Plot

This movie was about a small group of astronomersin a small office deciding whether to visitthe moon. They all came to an agreement and created a rocket that would take them over to

the moon.

After they had landed in the moon and slept overnight, it then came that the moon wasnt

empty and there were creature or different form of species living in the moon. The men that

flew to the moon got captured by the aliens and were going to be sacrificed to the king of the

moon. The men who flew to the moon ran away to find theyre rocket and flew back to earth.

Because this was a silent movie, I liked the way they presented and made it funny without

hearing whats going on in the background, with only the music speaking to the audience. Le

Voyage dan la lune contains wonderful visual effects for its era, nice put rocket with smoke

effects Melies' familiar in-camera tricks and visual effects are put to good use inA Trip to

the Moon and, unlike some of his earlier films.(Dion Detterer)It was also well thought how the moon had a face in my opinion it shows that the moon is

alive and it had organic things within it for example; the mood did have mushrooms Its in

the details, however, where the real beauty lies, such as when an umbrella transforms into a

George Melie done a fantastic job with the use

of paintings in hes scene, they are highly

detailed and really bring out its effects that it

was actually there. Looking at the image below

it visualizes the use of the paining in the

backgroundA Trip to the Moon is a delight, a

work of pure, playful imagination, a picture-

book fantasy brought to life with intricate,

hand-painted sets and a whimsical portrait of

science as wizardry by way of the industrial
