Lotus Pond East of Zuoying's old community West of the North-South railway line. The lake has an area of approximately 75

hectares. In 1686, Yang Fang-sheng, the Fongshan

magistrate built the Wen Temple (old Confucius Temple) with Lotus Pond as its companion pool.

Chouchai Wetland Park

Planned and built by the Taiwan Wetland Union and other ecology groups.

The original purpose is to construct another habitat for pheasant-tailed jacanas.

The home to more than 80 types of birds, as well as many types of plants and insects.

Gueishan Park

In the south of the Zuoying District, it is one of Zuoying's famous historical sites.

55 meters above sea level, it is shaped like a turtle with its head seemingly drinking from the Lotus Lake.

The tail falls next to Gushan District, and marks the boundary between Zuoying and Gushan.

Kaohsiung Confucius Temple

An immitation of the architectural style common during the Sung dynasty.

Taiwan's largest Confucian temple. Also the site of the annual Teachers' Day

celebration held on September 28 in honor of the birthday of Confucius.
