O Most verbs are action verbs. Some action verbs refer to physical action that can be seen by other people.
O Others refer to mental action that cannot be seen. Physical Action: The gardener feeds the ducks. O Mental Action: She likes the migrating birds best.

• Some verbs help to make a statement, not by expressing an action but by serving as a link between two words.
• These verbs are called linking verbs.
• Comes before another verb.
• It helps an action word.
