2019 Term 3 Week 10

Dear Parents

The Bethany Kindy Family gathered at the Tai Keng Gardens Park to mark the close of Term 3.

Like all our end of Term gatherings, everyone had a great time

and not forgetting the yummylious buffet spread of food from all the parents.

- Activity: Game “What’s Wrong?”

>> An excellent game of testing the children’s critical thinking

>> There’s a pair of cards with one that has something that is not correct & the children need to figure

“What’s Wrong?” with it

>> e.g. the elephant is missing its trunk; the car should not have square wheels … or the snake should not have

legs …

Finding and matching the correct piece …

Arranging them all very nicely & telling Teacher “What’s Wrong?” and what’s right …

Teacher is so happy to observe how the children are so curious

and figuring what’s right and wrong with every picture!

They were so engaged and they were so good with their reasoning skills ..

(some of them are barely three years old!!!)

- Math is Fun

Peace

a) Fun game of BINGO – new to many of the children

b) They learned what it means to “BINGO” with 5 numbers in a vertical / horizontal / diagonal arrangement

c) Much concentration needed to follow the numbers called in quick succession

Bingo cards and counters; taking turns to roll out the numbers


As the numbers are rolled out, Teacher writes them on the white board;

Much excitement and anticipation as quite a few of them waited for their last number to “BINGO”

And we had a few winners!

Joy

a) Revision of math concepts – addition, subtraction, even/odd numbers

b) Activity: Game of musical chairs. The one without a chair will be required to solve a math question

a) Number recognition of numbers 1-10

b) Song: ’10 Little Children’

c) Activity: Place the magnetic numbers into the correct box

a) Number recognition; Smaller/bigger

b) Activity: Draw a number, determine if number is smaller/bigger than a given number

Show, Tell & Share is conducted in Chinese whenever Lao Shi takes the session

Carissa used two pieces of Lego to make a hand phone. She was calling Mummy & she was able to tell

Teacher her Mummy’s hand phone number (it was correct!!!)

Zechariah showed how he put on his yellow swim goggles. Everyone shared about the colour of their goggles

too.

“I can change the shape of my bangles” says Caira.

Elliot named stationeries that he had in his Thomas the Train pencil case.

Jasher opened the page with a ‘Spot-the-difference’ game and his classmates tried to identify the differences

in the picture!

Carolyn brought mermaid stickers that her mummy bought for her. She pointed the mermaid tail to her

friends.


Fun & Movement

Mass Activity

Testing our teamwork and coordination with a mini challenge to pass the hoop in a circle!


Aesthetics (Music & Movement)

They did what the animals like to do as they sang along the song:

“Kangaroos like to hop- HOP HOP HOP HOP”

“And frogs like to leap- WHEEEEEE”


“Horses like to trot- CLIP CLOP! CLIP CLOP! CLIP CLOP!”

And… the last line of the song, is definitely true!

“But I like to fall in a heap- BONK!”


Because they giggled, laughed, and wanted to do it one more time!

Special Outing for the Peace Cass

Every year, the Peace class will have the opportunity to visit a Primary school.

This is to prepare them as they transit from kindergarten to a primary school environment.

It was exciting for the children as they explored the huge compound of North Spring Primary School …..
