CNC Sliding Head Lathes

A Series Cincom A32-VII

»The Forward« – the fastest machine in the

32 mm machining range.

With its larger machining range of up to Ø 32 mm and maximum parts lengths of 320 mm (without re-chucking), the new sliding head lathe expands the application capacity of the successful Citizen A series. The excellent price/performance ratio is one of the most convincing features of the A32-VII. Mo-reover, it offers high stability 6 rigidity for efficient heavy-duty cutting.

Operating facility, high stability & rigidity, high accuracy as well as short machining times should be mentioned as further outstanding features of the newly developped Citizen machine. The standard tooling system has been expanded both for front and back and machining. In addition, the enhan-ced driving power of main and sub spindles allows for sufficient power reserves even for heavy-duty cutting.

In combination with the „Streamline Control“ developped by Citizen, the fast co-processor with Mitsubishi control unit enables a drastic increase in productivity. Moreover, idle times are reduced dramaticallly as the feed motion of the next axis can already be started during the current motion of another axis.

However, our A32 does not only prove through its technical features. Another benefit is our first-class and comprehensive service package. For detailed information, please see under www. citizen.de.

A32 Machine Configuration

Cincom A32-VII Low in maintenance - long life

Next to the renowned high quality stan-dard of Citizen, further constructive en-gineering features grant the high reliabi-lity of the machine - both in heavy-duty cutting and in high-speed machining.

Air sealingThe synchronous guide bush and the bea-

rings at main spindle and sub spindle are

standard equipped with air seals. These

seals prevent the penetration of cutting

fluid and dirt particles.

Rigid and extremely stable spindle constructionThe spindle features a highly rigid design.

This allows for powerful machining pro-

cesses with high accuracy and good surface

finish.

Roller (LM) guides for all travelling axesRoller guides are used for all slide guide-

ways. Thanks to their low elastic deformati-

on under load and their wide contact areas,

these extremely rigid and robust rollers run

smoothly and stick-slip free.

Central lubrication provided as standardThe ball screws, LM guides, and drive unit

of the synchronous guide bush are centrally

lubricated. The otherwise due maintenance

works to be executed on a periodical basis

are thus obsolete.

By installing the latest state-of-the-art Misubishi M70 Control unit in combination with Citizen‘s unique control technique „Streamline Control“, we have managed to slash idle times and cycle times. The result of these efforts is a new generation of CNC sliding head lathes offering you an unrivalled cost-benefit ratio hand in hand with a true increase in productivity.

The ultra fast calculation and processing opera-tions lead to drastic time savings when processing macros and reading NC blocks. This is a major contribution to cutting down on cycle times. .

The motion overlap function specifically developed by Citizen grants fast and stick-slip-free axis feed motions thus complying with one of the most im-portant conditions for high-speed machining. Idle times are minimised without affecting the machi-ning process as the feed motion of the next axis can already be started during the current motion of another axis.

Direct C axis indexingWhen a C-axis spindle command is used for positioning, the position at which the spindle decelerates to a stop following the rotation can be made the indexing position, substantially shortening indexing time. This substantially shortens the indexing time.

Axis feed motion overlap functionThe next axis feed motion starts without wai-ting for the completion of the current motion - of another axis. This eliminates wasteful idle time and suppresses machine vibration.

A32-VII - Standard versionStandard • Synchronously driven guide bush• Drive unit for cross driven spindles on vertical holder• Sub spindle• Parts ejector• Workpiece separator (chute)• Coolant tank• Central lubrication• Door lock• Pneumatic unit as air seal • Knock-out device for work- pieces with through-hole• Quadruple drilling tool for front machining

Advantages of the A32-VIISliding Head Lathe • Maximum precision• Easy machining of long parts without any further support• Finish machining for optimum surface quality• Simultaneous front/back machining• Complete machining• Easy programming• Fast set-up changes

The Sliding Head Lathe is always equipped with a guide bush which is set according to the material to be machined. All ma-chining processes on the main spindle are executed directly in front of the guide bush. This ensures the optimum guidance and support of the material to be machined at the cutting point. The Sliding Head Lathe is perfectly suited for long, slender parts. Ho-wever, short parts can also be machined.

• Quintuple drilling tool for back machining• 4 rotary tools• Extended I/O unit (for B code)• 3-colour caution lamp• Internal work light• Workpiece conveyor (workpiece conveyor belt)• Cut-off breakage monitoring

Option • Chip conveyor • Vertical holder with 7 turning tools• Yellow caution lamp• Long part option • Workpiece separator for main spindle• High-pressure pump• Coolant flow monitoring• 4 face rotary tools for back machining
