Have you taken some pictures at school events? We would love to have them for our yearbook! You can

We still have more events to come so snap a few shots at upcoming activities or even just here at Schirle on

a regular school day, we need those too. Don’t worry, they don’t have to be professional quality, even

Iphone photos will help. The more pictures of our Schirle Sharks we have, the better the yearbook!

Spring Flower Sale!

It’s almost time for our Life Skills Class

Annual Flower Sale

PRE-ORDERS: March 2nd—March 18th Life Skills with be selling flowers for Mother's Day, May

10. We will be taking orders beginning March 2 through

March 18. This year we will be selling 4" ready- to -plant

Geraniums and 12 " hanging baskets of Fuchsia, Mixed Flow-

ers, Ivy Geranium or Calibrachoa (mini petunias), 15” mixed

patio planter. Order forms will be sent home in

Thursday folders. Please return before Spring Break.

Jane Goodall Environmental Middle School (JGEMS)

Attention 5th Grade Parents! Are there any aspiring Scientist in your hone? JGEMS is a Charter School

within the Salem Keizer School District. Students are chosen through a lottery process. They

will be hosting an informational meeting on March 5th at 5:30pm. At that meeting they will

had out applications that will be due by March 13th. More information can be found on their

This year, the

funds for our penny drive will benefit the Elizabeth Bowers Zambia Education

Fund.

Their Mission:

EBZEF empowers women, children, and their community in Lumwana West,

Zambia, to break the cycle of poverty through education.

Their Vision:

Elizabeth Rachel Bowers (1979–2002) shared her compassionate spirit with the

people of her village as a Peace Corps volunteer. The education legacy sustains

Beth’s vision of service and global awareness by empowering young women to

build positive change from within, to become leaders and educators, and to im-

prove the quality of life in their communities.

Apply for secondary transfers

Current fifth grade students (entering sixth grade in

September) who want to attend a school other than

their assigned school next fall (2019-20 school year)

must apply for in-district transfer (IDT) be-

tween March 2 and March 31, 2020.

IDT applications received after

March 31, 2020 will not be con-

sidered.

Students must be five years old on or before September 10

Birth certificate (proof of age)

Proof of residence (utility bill, lease agreement)
