Chapter 1.6: They Better Be Just Friends

The Hetalia sims are back! Sorry this update took longer than usual to get out. I got lazy and decided to keep playing all the families instead of writing out updates and I also had to get my school schedule changed. But things should be a lot more consistent now unless I decide to go on another playing spree. Onto the story! (Children not in the photo above: Dovydas and Marlena Laurinaitis)

Get out. I’m seriously wondering if this is what happens in all games or if it’s just in mine.

Wow a sim child got a cheer for once, normally parents are sleeping when this happens.

That awkward moment when you’re invited over to play and you’re left alone with your friend’s brother’s friend and he laughs at you while your friend and her brother refuse to play with you.

Francis once again wearing the minimum amount of clothing possible in my game.

It’s Francis why wouldn’t he go?

Oh…that’s why.

Wait what? It must be because André grew up before 6pm when they were transitioning from toddlers but Eleanor was still in the middle of hers when the clock changed.

Little bit of cheating to get the twins back to being well twins and Eleanor gets to go first.

Sweetie you look like a tree. Go cheer for your brother then you two are going shopping.

Did I mention it’s Valentine’s day? Well guess what Francis asks Arthur while the kids are out shopping.

I personally like dodgeball because nobody pays attention to me but I had a feeling other people wouldn’t. I’ve never played a game of kickball where the team is actually supportive they just yell at me. Good for Eleanor having nice classmates.

Francis learned his co-workers don’t like him so I let him skip this one.

Hmm well if it’s the same guy that “promoted” you I didn’t think it would matter.

Oh come on he didn’t get the promotion but the demotion actually happens? Unfair.

Eleanor you know you could use your cellphone right?

…What? You expected me to tell Francis to put on clothes? He doesn’t listen to me there’s no point. At least he’s fit, I think all the sims are and they should be they do a lot of swimming.

You’re still eating them. And yes that is some brand spanking new paint on the wall behind him. I got sick of looking at the same walls so I went and repainted all the houses. The floors are the still the same I got lazy quickly.

Wait a second it’s the middle of the night what are you two doing out here by yourselves?

Niklaus: We’re not by ourselves.

Being with each other doesn’t count.

Sophia: There’s more people behind you.

This outfit does not suit Feli. At all. Maybe it would suit his 2p! though.

Rosa got a dartboard because why not? Plus it looks awesome in her room.

Blah blah long chance card which was basically whiny elder sims complaining and causing Ludwig to lose skill points.

Pigolio makes an appearance! But it’s Rosa’s birthday which means there’s cake downstairs!

Woo cake. I wish I had some right now. Maybe I’ll make some tomorrow.

Back at the apartment Rosa has changed into her new outfit and restyled her hair.

As the only child of Feliciano and Ludwig it looks like Rosa will by the Vargas heir by default unless they surprise me by having another child.

Somebody’s been procrastinating.

I know. You’d think the teacher wouldn’t make you hand in your grade school homework wouldn’t you?

Too bad there’s no scholarship for making pasta perfectly. Maybe Feli should fund it.

Looks like Kornélia got her hands on a bottle of bubbles to celebrate the fact she now has a pink room.

It’s a good day for her. She got a pink room, an A+ and brought a friend home from school.

Not so good for Gilbert. That annoying guy came and slapped him. It’s okay Gilbert I’ll deal with him soon.

Elizabeta has scary cooking skills. She basically slams the knife into everything. Don’t anger her when she’s holding that thing.

Well if I had a job and had to be evaluated I’d go with normal clothes.

That is really unreasonable. Who gets fined for trying to make a good impression?!

They became friends before Eli left and aww hugs.

I think Kornélia’s preoccupied with other thoughts besides boys right now.

When your sims are better at sports than you, you know you waste too much of your life inside.

By the way Elizabeta is feeling better, she got another job in Education. It’s lower than her old one but we’ll take it. Let’s go see how the Zwingli family is doing.

Not exactly sure how Sophia plans to befriend herself but I know she can befriend Kornélia.

Niklaus: Aw I lost!

Sophia: Well I lost the last one now we’re even.

Roderich: Oh hi Maria Clara. I’m sorry Vash and I were just about to go out for lunch together to celebrate Valentine’s day.

Maria Clara: Is that today? I totally forgot I’ll let you guys be on your way then. I’ll call you later Roderich.

Dang spring weather I wanted them to wear their formal wear since they seem like the most likely to dine in formal wear. (It didn’t occur to me at this point to cheat them into it.)

A couple hours later and the family sits down to dinner in their pyjamas (except Vash).

Uh no we didn’t. At least I’m 99% sure we didn’t.

Okay who set the place on fire again? I should just install sprinklers, it would be so much faster than waiting for the firefighters.

These guys are adorable.

And then I saw this and it occurred to me I hadn’t seen the landlord in a while. I couldn’t find his grave though and I don’t know how he died anyway.

Distributing worked for everybody else.

And it works for Sophia as well.

Well I guess it’s official. Landlord guy is dead and now both apartments have weirdo landlady.

She’s not alone she’s with Niklaus. Are the social workers implying it’s okay to leave Niklaus on his own?

Not sure her dads would approve of using pillows for that purpose but it looks like fun so it doesn’t matter.

I noticed sim kids had the option to classic dance so I tried it out with these two. This game just got even more awesome.

Hey guys I found the landlord’s grave. Still don’t know how he died though. I guess I’ll leave it there until I see his ghost or something.

There’s two cakes on the counter it must be the twins’ birthdays again.

Eh it could be worse I guess.

I cancelled Niklaus’ cake interaction because his sister wasn’t ready but he was already transitioning so here’s the last shot of him as a child.

I think he fared better than his sister but both those outfits need to go.

Wow pretty much the same aspirations. I know which of these LTWs I’d prefer but I won’t choose between them yet.

I don’t remember why I took this photo maybe it was because he has matching pyjamas with Roderich.

Ignoring his fashion sense I think he aged pretty well.

Look who Eli bumped into while clothes shopping. Greet him then hurry home Eli I see a vampire.

Eli is bisexual in case anybody was wondering. And he finds Niklaus attractive but I don’t think Niklaus feels the same since he rolled straight.

I caught Eli sliding down the stair rails so this gets to be his post-makeover shot.

Aspiration: Popularity/FamilyLTW: Graduate 3 children from college

I find it funny that he rolled both his parents primary aspirations.

Speaking of his parents both of them are working again. Natalia got another job in the Intelligence field.

I didn’t realize how many times I would have this same chance card in this update. It’s turning into the nectar vs. blender question.

Well maybe if you people didn’t completely suck you would have gotten more than four. *hugs Valeria*

So apparently Alfred’s co-worker doesn’t actually work in Journalism.

I flick away for one moment and somehow Alfred develops a crush on his co-worker. Uhm I don’t know how to approach this just don’t act on it Alfred and I’m sure Natalia will never know.

Alfred: I’m just saying goodbye.

This is very awkward. And I’m still mad at you Alfred.

They actually got fancy looking food. In all honesty I expected Alfred to get a hamburger.

Uh Ivan?

Ivan: I don’t know he just sat down.

Otis is still here. He hasn’t gotten old yet and I’m dreading that time I just hope he’s as cute then as he is now.

The family that bonds over video games stays together. Natalia joined them after she finished studying.

I noticed Eli had some high bolts with a certain somebody so I decided to let them go on a date. Anybody want to guess who it is?

I don’t think sitting at a different table from your date is a good sign Eli.

I realized after the date that the picture of them hugging as kids could be taken as foreshadowing this relationship. I did not intend for that to happen and their relationship isn’t really official they just went on one date.

One date that Eli almost ruined by noogieing his date.

I didn’t know Kornélia hated Rosa. I wonder what happened between those two.

Okay so they shared their first kiss together in front of Kiku. That doesn’t mean they’ll continue being a couple. I might pair them off with other people but this was a nice change of pace.

He did introduce her to Alfred though. I feel like I’m digging myself into a hole now. But Alfred is a popularity sim and got aspiration points for meeting somebody new so that’s my excuse here. I wonder when her dad will find out that she went on a date with the boy that was “just her friend” as a child.

Eli looks grumpy that I’m making them play chess instead of video games. You need the points for scholarships dude.

Finally a new chance card. Let’s bet.

Well it’s a good thing he didn’t print that story then. He probably would have been fired.

And as Natalia and Valeria sit down to a game of chess let’s check across the hall and see what’s going on over there.

We’re back at the Wang household where Huan seems to have something against the rabbit head and keeps smashing it into the ground.

And Tao passed out downstairs after school. *pokes him lightly* Wake up Tao we need to get your aspiration bar up it’s your birthday!

Tao: zzzzzztiredzzzzz

Since Huan is also growing up I took this as initiative to call the headmaster to get both kids into private school at the same time.

Huan gets to go first since I’m still trying to raise Tao’s aspiration meter.

And she gets an outfit and hairstyle that works until I have time to change them but right now we have a headmaster visit to finish.

You have got to be kidding me? Right now? When the headmaster is here?!

After the fire incident Yao decided to serve dinner on one of the upstairs bathroom counters and then this traffic jam at the stairs happened.

And even with those setbacks Huan and Tao made it into private school. Hooray!

You have got to be kidding me? Today? I’m still trying to raise Tao’s aspiration bar and he needs sleep.

Missed the fight but the cop won this time.

Everybody got up because of the burglar alarm except Yao. Okay everybody back up to bed.

It’s 7am not the middle of the night. And don’t joke about houses on fire.

That awkward moment when you’re on a date and you think your husband is cute but he thinks somebody’s else’s husband is cute.

I found the cause of all the thunder and lightning.

I finally got Huan’s hair and clothes changed when she got home from school.

And despite my efforts Tao grows up badly.

He doesn’t even get cake because I was trying to beat the clock.

If those memories don’t sum up a terrible birthday I don’t know what will. I don’t even remember the last sim I had that grew up badly.

How can you say that? You made a lot of friends and got to wear an apron your whole childhood.

Either way here is Tao as a teenager despite him not being ready to transition.

Sounds like fun although he’ll have to wait to see if he’s going to be heir or his little sister.

Speaking of Huan, Ivan teaches her how to study so her life can be easier.

These two fell in love at the clothing store…if it weren’t jerkhead telescope guy I’d probably congratulate them but it is so I won’t.

Well it could have been worse.

The burglar decides to use her one phone call to call the child of the family she robbed. Genius robber right there folks.

This is probably racist but I’m going to see what happens if I click ethnic.

Ignoring the glitched up icon Tao got invited out so I figured I’d let him go to make up for the terrible birthday.

That’s it? I was hoping for some of the Hetalia sims or their children. Well I guess we should make the most of this.

They ate food and went bowling. I’m sure Tao was as bored as I was.

I personally don’t care what events say they’re about I like making my own decisions so interpretation.

Hooray that’ll help towards his promotion!

Yao has a high enough creativity to paint custom paintings so I have him paint some decorations for the apartment.

I vaguely remember getting a bad outcome with the fire escape so let’s go with the back door.

And more points towards promotions.

That awkward moment when the only person Yao can call is the burglar that tried to rob his family. Well let’s move on then shall we?

It’s Krystian’s birthday! But right after I took this picture I realized I wanted to raise his aspiration meter more. Don’t worry he actually grew up well just not right now.

Krystian your brother isn’t old enough to play Mahjong yet. I’d let you try teaching him but I think he’d probably eat the pieces.

Speaking of the Laurinaitis twins it’s almost their birthday as well. But they still have some skills to learn.

And then the clock ticked over and it was time for the twins to grow up. Wait a second…

Poor Dovydas he looks heartbroken over the fact his brother grew up. Or he’s scared of his own birthday.

Two more sets of sparkles later and we have two new sim children. Now there’s three cakes lying around this place.

Krystian brought Niklaus home from school and they decided to practice for the Phelps-Wilsonoff Billiards Prize scholarship.

Here’s Krystian after he woke up and changed his outfit.

So he has the same LTW as Feliks. We’ll see if I choose to do that want again next generation or if one of the twins becomes heir.

And Marlena after changing her clothes and getting a haircut. The Hawaiian dress is probably weird for this family but it matched the outfit I gave Dovydas so it doesn’t matter.

I like Dovydas’ outfit better than Marlena’s but I wanted them to match so they get to wear these outfits until their next birthday.

Their parents are asleep so Krystian being a great big brother helps Marlena with her homework.

And then helps Dovydas who got the awesome footie pyjamas.

Marlena: Uh…

Dovydas: Hey Marlena look outside!

Marlena: What?

I didn’t take that many photos of this family since everybody was on similar schedules: school/work, sleep, eat, homework, repeat. So here’s Krystian calling the headmaster to come over for a visit the next time I open the household.

The twins are asleep in their room. I think it’s obvious who decided the colour scheme.

And Krystian sits down to a game of chess with his dad. This family had a surprising lack of chance cards which took up the bulk of the other families’ updates.

And one final picture of Heidi (who I always want to call Cynthia for some reason) looking rather regal before we check in with the Hondas. I realized while editing this I didn’t send Toris and Feliks on a Valentine’s day date so I’ll let them go on one in the next update to make up for it.

Glowing milk means one thing! Toddler training! (Okay it could also mean a glitch but here it means toddler training).

I really hope Lily and Lee are the last toddlers in this generation I’ve had more than enough toddler training for a while.

What I’m learning from my sims is that Niklaus is really hot. I should see what he thinks of some of the others sims since everyone seems to fancy him.

Sadly he doesn’t find Miku that attractive. Or maybe he’s just saying that because Kiku is standing next to them.

Niklaus: Did you read that book for class yet?

Miku: Not yet I’ll probably read it after Lily and Lee grow up.

So happy that this is probably the last toddler skill needed for this generation.

Skills out of the way it’s time for the youngest twins to grow up. Up first is Lily.

And she grows up into a blue version of the nightgown her sister had as a child.

Next up is Lee!

He also grows up into blue pyjamas.

There’s no real purpose to this photo besides it being a photo of Miku.

Sophia came over the next day and she and Miku hung out with two of the building’s other teenagers on the playground. And then I had Miku go babysit her siblings so her parents could go out.

I cheated them into their formal outfit and I am not ashamed of it.

So yea…they went out to eat and danced a bit that’s about it.

Uh I don’t get why there’s cleaning points being tossed around but okay.

While they were out Miku thought Lily how to do her homework. But then I noticed something in the cage behind the desk.

Harmony was dead. I don’t know when this happened. I’m pretty sure there was enough food before everybody left for school and work but maybe I was wrong.

Either way Lily didn’t seem to care much about it. I had Miku remove Harmony and she just sighed before carrying on with her life. This photo is actually to show Lily’s post-makeover outfit.

Their parents were still out so Miku helped Lee with his homework as well.

Since Summer is coming I switched Lee out of the pants he grew up wearing into some overalls.

This kid is a genius. I wasn’t using letters in math until 8th grade let alone making formulas with them.

Not to downplay Kiku’s abilities but I don’t think it’s likely he’d be able to memorize the choreography that quickly.

Yay Kiku! You’d think he’d get a cash prize for winning his division but a body point works too.

Plus the hat is awesome.

I found all three siblings at the Mahjong table and somehow I didn’t notice until now that they all have blue pyjamas. I knew the twins did but I didn’t pay attention to Miku’s. Hooray for matching pjs.

The Laurinaitis family all went into the hall I assume they were getting ready for the Saturday gathering.

Mermaids need privacy too right?

Well that’s just rude. It’s okay Lin Yi you didn’t need that body point anyway.

Lin Yi: Welcome Mr. Headmaster I hope you don’t mind having the tour first dinner isn’t quite ready yet.

Headmaster: Grilled cheese is a bit weird but that’s good right?

Miku: That’s exactly why I like it!
