NSS Unit of Narayana Engineering College, Nellore in association with Yuvatejam, NGO,
Nellore organized a Vanam Manam Program at our campus on 17-07-2020, The main
objective of this program is to bring the awareness on Need of plants in our life and also to
educate the importance of Plantation to the students of NECN. Dr.G.Srinivasulu Reddy,
Principal stated that, At the present the green cover in Andhra Pradesh is about 26% and but it is
taken care that it should be improved by the year 2029. The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh
Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that about 1 crore of saplings will be planted on 29th July
and also he ask for about 5 Karur people to take part in this program, so that they can help us
turning Andhra Pradesh into and Haritha Andhra Pradesh which is full of greenery and good
number of trees. 6 staff members and 25 students have actively participated in the event.

NSS Unit of Narayana Engineering College, Nellore in Association with Pinakini Youth Welfare
Association, Nellore organized an Awareness pledge on Covid -19. We assembled the students
of NECN. Mr. T. Venkateswarlu, Honorable President of Pinakini Youth Welfare Association,
Nellore gave a pledge and stated The aim of the campaign is to encourage people's participation
and a Covid-19 pledge will be taken by everyone. It endeavors to be a low-cost but high-
intensity campaign with the key messages to 'wear mask, follow physical distancing, maintain
hand hygiene'. About 6 staff members and 108 students have actively participated in the event.

NSS Unit of Narayana Engineering College, Nellore in Association with Pinakini Youth Welfare
Association, Nellore organized an Awareness Program on VTM Test. We invited Doctor from
A.P Subha Reddy Government Hospital, He stated that, A shortage of corona virus testing
supplies is creating a bottleneck for patients needing to be tested and dermatologists are
encouraged to consider donations of extra supplies. Equipment is on backorder in many areas of
the country, but supply shortages vary by region. Some of this equipment is used by
dermatologists in their offices to test patients for herpes virus or coetaneous MRSA infection,
About 5 staff members and 78 students have actively participated in the event.

NSS Unit of Narayana Engineering College, Nellore in Association with Pinakini Youth Welfare
Association, Nellore organized a National Youth Day on 12-01-2021 at our campus. We conducted
an Elocution Competition through Zoom App due to Pandemic situation. We explained the significance
of the day. Dr.G.Srinivasulu Reddy, Principal stated that, Swami Vivekananda’s birth day, January 12th is
being celebrated as National Youth Day, every year. He was the chief disciple of Ramakrishna
Paramahamsa and the founder of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. Vivekananda was the
first known Hindu Swami to go to the West, where he introduced Eastern thought at the world Parliament
of Religions, in connection with the world fair in Chicago in 1893. About 6 staff members and 92
students have actively participated in the event.

Welfare Association, Nellore organized a BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SUBASH CHANDRA
BOSE. We explained the importance of Subash Chandra Bose to the students of NECN.
Mr.Murali Mohan, President of Pinakini Youth Welfare Association stated that, Subash Chandra
Bose was a great nationalist; people know him for his country’s love. He was born on 23rd of
January in 1897 & his participation in the Independence movement took place by the Civil
Disobedience Movement. He was also a member of Indian National Congress. He moved to
Japan & started the formation of the Indian National Army in 1943. About 8 staff members and
65 students have actively participated in the event.

Association, Nellore organized an Awareness Program on National Voters Day on 25-01-2021 at
our campus. We invited Mr. Murali Mohan, President, Pinakini Youth Welfare Association,
Nellore as a guest of honor. Dr.G.Srinivasulu Reddy, Principal, Stated that, National Voters Day
celebration is observed across the whole of India in over 7 lac locations. Every year eligible
voters take a pledge, receive Photo Voter ID Card and a booklet highlighting his/her rights and
obligations. It is very important to celebrate such days, it will help democracy in the country and
inspire people should take participate in nation-building. About 5 staff members and 120
students have actively participated in the event.

Department of EEE of Narayana Engineering College, Nellore in Association with Pinakini
Youth Welfare Association, Nellore organized an Awareness Program on Birth Anniversary of
Lala Lajpat Rai on 28-01-2021 at our campus. Dr.G.Venkateswarlu, HOD, EEE stated that, Lala
Lajpat Rai, an extremist leader and Indian Freedom fighter was born on 28th January 1865 in
Dhudike, Punjab. He played a significant role in Indian Independence Movement. Lala Lajpat
Rai was popularly known as Punjab Kesari and Lion of Punjab. He was part of the famous
radical trio Lal Bal Pal (Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra Pal), They
together advocated the Swadeshi Movement in India, which involved the boycott of all imported
goods and the use of Indian made goods. He also initiated the foundation of Punjab National
Bank. About 6 staff members and 71 students have actively participated in the event.

Department of Mechanical Engineering of Narayana Engineering College, Nellore in
Association with Pianakini Youth Welfare Association, Nellore organized an World Cancer
Day at our campus on 04-02-2021. Dr.T.Raghava Rao, Cancer Hospital , Nellore stated that, World
Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage
its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer
Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008. The primary goal
of World Cancer Day is to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer and is an opportunity to
rally the international community to end the injustice of preventable suffering from cancer.The day is
observed by the United Nations. About 3 staff members and 62 students have actively participated
in the event.

at ViswaBharathi Blind School, Nellore . We distributed sports items, Fruits and stationary to the
Blind People. Mrs Vani, HOD,MBA stated that, World Disabled Day is celebrated every year to
acknowledge the issues faced by persons with disabilities (PwD) around the world. World
Disabled Day is known as "International Day of Persons with Disabilities", the day aims to
promote an awareness of disability issues and the fundamental rights of persons with disabilities.

Youth Welfare Association, Nellore organized an Awareness Program on World TB Day at our
campus. We invited Mr.Raju from PInakini Youth Welfare Association to provide awareness.
He stated that, Each year, we commemorate World Tuberculosis (TB) Day on March 24 to raise
public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB, and to
step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. The date marks the day in 1882 when Dr Robert
Koch announced that he had discovered the bacterium that causes TB, which opened the way
towards diagnosing and curing this disease. About 6 staff members and 81 students have actively
participated in the event.

NSS Unit of NECN organized an Awareness Program on World Water Day on 22-03-2021 at
our campus. Mr.Rashid, HOD, Civil stated that, World Water Day 2021: Air, water, and
food are the three essential things human needs to survive on Earth. Water is one of
the prime necessities. Without an adequate and continuous source of water, life
could not exist on earth. Hence, we can say that" Water is Life". About 5 staff members

our campus on 07-04-2021. We invited Dr. P.Deekshitha Madam, Nellore Hospital. She stated
that, Day 2021 marks the seventieth anniversary of WHO (World Health Organisation). Every
year, April 7 is celebrated as World Health Day to spread awareness about quality living and the
importance of health. Especially today, when the world is witnessing the second wave of
Covid19, it has become even more important to celebrate this day and focus on the measures to
be taken to deal with the problems at hand. About 4 staff members and 71 students have actively

Anniversary of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar at our campus on 14-04-2021. Dr.P.Suresh, HOD, MCA
Stated that, pril 14 marks the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, best known for being the
architect of the Indian constitution and for his struggle against untouchability in Indian
society.Popularly known as Babasaheb, the social reformer, economist, thinker, politician and
the first Law Minister of Independent India, Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was born on April 14,
1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh and was known for his campaigns against social discrimination
against Dalits, women and labour. About 6 staff members and 71 students have actively
participated in the event.

Youth Welfare Association, Nellore organized an Awareness Program on World Earth Day at
our campus on 22-04-2021 . Dr.Murali, HOD, ECE stated that, World Earth day is observed every
year on April 22 to create awareness about pollution and to celebrate the environment of the blue
planet. The day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in
1970. This day is celebrated each year to remind us about the need to protect and safeguard our
environment so that we can make this planet a better place for our future generations. This year,
it will be 51st Anniversary of Earth Day. The theme of the day this year is “Restore Our Earth”.
We distributed saplings and done plantation too. About 5 staff members and 72 students have
actively participated in the event.

Association, Nellore organized an Awareness Program on Covid-19 at our campus on 05-05-
2021 . We invited C.I, Sri. J. Ramesh, 1 Town as a chief Guest. He stated that, “Taking the fight
to COVID-19 is all about sharing the right information about what we can all do to help halt the
spread of infection. But how do you do this in Senegal, where there are more than a dozen
languages? In a bid to find a creative and reliable solution, the UN information team in Dakar
has joined forces with musicians who have a loyal following in the country and the wider West
African diaspora. About 5 staff members and 101 students have actively participated in the
event.
