AN ESCAPE LIKE NO OTHER> Amidst acres of open space and welcoming outdoor landscaped plazas, visitors tothe new Westfield Century City will discover many of fashion’s most trendsettingbrands, award-winning chefs and culinary experiences, headlining events andentertainment, as well as art, cultural programming and multifaceted healthamenities – all in one place.

Creatively designed in collaboration with acclaimed L.A.-based design powerhouse Kelly Wearstler, Westfield Century City is easy to navigate, walkable and yet relaxing. Intimate alfresco dining promenades, secluded lounges and private cabanas are nestled alongside acres of quiet walkways and gardens, beautifully landscaped with native trees and plants. Shaded wood-screened trellises and a canopy of olive and palm trees throughout the center complement a grand outdoor entertainment venue and terrace – a new location for cultural programming on the westside of LA.

Century City’s exceptional lineup of over 200 shops, restaurants and amenities begins with the West Coast’s first Eataly, a new three-level Nordstrom, a completely remodeled three-level Bloomingdale’s, a modern new two-level Macy’s and a luxurious Equinox fitness club and spa.

The new offerings at Westfield Century City have been opening in phases throughout 2017 (beginning in April) – with the destination’s official Grand Opening celebration occurring in October.

From New Vision photography in Central Europe and war photojournalism in Spain to the late surrealist scene in Mexico City. Most of Horna’s work was produced for the press—and much of it as photographic essays, series, or stories. Among the defining traits of her photographic practice is a keen sensibility towards the fantastic and mysterious in everyday life.

EXHIBIT | Century ParkCUBA ISSeptember 9 - March 4 – Free Admission

Wednesday , October 18 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

> Revealing complexities both on and off the island, Cuba Is explores aspects of Cuba not easily accessed by foreigners, and sometimes not even by Cubans themselves. Born from indigenous, African and European roots, divergent politics and limitations in communication and commerce, the Cuba seen in this exhibition goes beyond the folklore and offers new insight into its current reality. Over 120 photos feature subjects ranging from defiant youth known as “frikis” to the hard-partying children of the 1%, the underground system of sharing digital content—“El paquete”—to Miami’s Chonga girls.

Cuba Is also includes archival images and work done on assignment by five featured photographers: Elliott Erwitt, Leysis Quesada, Raúl Cañibano, Tria Giovan and Michael Dweck. An original documentary film—produced by the Annenberg Foundation—follows these photographers as they capture unseen images of life in Havana and beyond.

Complementing this rare, immersive look into Cuban life is a virtual reality experience that delves into Cuba’s current dynamic music scene, allowing visitors to virtually stroll along the storied Malecón.

Work from Violet Isle: A Duet of Photographs from Cuba, by Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb, will be featured in an outdoor exhibit adjacent to the Photo Space. The photos bring together Alex’s exploration of the streets of Cuba along with Rebecca’s discovery of unique collections of animals throughout the island.

The Cuba Is exhibit is part of Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, a far-reaching and ambitious exploration of Latin American and Latino art in dialogue with Los Angeles. Pacific Standard Time is an initiative of the Getty. The presenting sponsor is Bank of America.

> Renee Watkinson is responsible for the management and operational oversight for the 6.1 million square foot superblock destination known as Century Park; a mini-metropolis comprising 3.1 million square feet of Trophy, Class A+ office space and a 3 million square foot, 8-level subterranean parking structure. Located in the heart of Century City, Century Park is home to international award winning commercial office space, casual and fine dining – including Craft Los Angeles, a 4-acre centerpiece park and the renowned Annenberg Space for Photography. Under Renee’s management leadership in partnership with Trammell Crow Company (TCC) development group, Century Park has been transformed over the past 10 years with the development of the acclaimed 2000 Avenue of the Stars, the capital renovation of the award- winning Century Plaza Towers and the development and construction of a $38 million, onsite central plant. Both Century Plaza Towers and 2000 Avenue of the Stars have achieved LEED Gold certification under Ms. Watkinson’s leadership. Enhancing sustainability initiatives, which resulted in the LEED Gold certifications, Renee directed the implementation of a comprehensive water recovery project that will result in the conservation of more than 3.0 million gallons of water annually. Renee is responsible for Century Park’s ongoing strategic sustainability platform, which has resulted in the significant reduction in the carbon footprint of Century Park through pro-grams that have reduced power consumption (lighting retrofit and solar window panel retrofit), increased water conservation as well as enhanced and expanded recycling. With more than 25 years in commercial real estate, she actively serves on boards and executive committees for numerous professional and philanthropic organizations. Renee has served as Chairperson for BOMA’s Education, Awards and Charities committees.
