A big congratulaons to all students for their consistency with handing in homework and home readers! Super effort! Gloucester Show The show is coming up at the end of the term . We are planning on taking the children up to have a look on Friday the 4th of April. We will be travelling by bus to and from. There will be a bus cost and a $2 entry fee for this excur- sion. (Perm note and costs will be coming home shortly). Students will also be contribung artwork and cooking to be exhibited over the weekend. I have aached a schedule for the junior cooking secon if any of you would like to contribute further. Mrs Sansom will be making the decorated cupcakes and the decorated eggs with the students here at school. We will also need some volunteers to help hang our artworks on the Thursday aſternoon before the show. Volunteer Gardeners. As we are approaching our centenary celebraons would like to ask for any volunteers who would like to come in and help give our playground a ‘spring clean’. All of the gardens could do with a makeover and revamp and there are a few other odd jobs that we could use a hand with. Please let Jodie know if you can lend a hand for an hour or so a week to get our school looking beauful again. Mums, Dads, Grandparents are all welcome. Harmony Day Fri 21st March On Harmony Day this year we will be cooking and sampling foods from different cultures, doing craſt acvies and playing games to celebrate our cultural diversity. A $2 coin donaon will be required to help pay towards the costs of food supplies on this day. Please send money in a named envelope/bag. Thank you. The day of this Centenary Celebraon has been set for Saturday, 25th October. This celebraon of 100 years of operaon of Straord Public School will require a lot of hard work, preparaon and sup- port to make it a day to be proud of. We will require input and support from families, students, community members, P & C and staff to ensure it flows smoothly and is a day to be proud of and fills our community of mes past. Any local families and community members with ideas to share or memorabilia and items for this day please contact the school ASAP. All help and suggesons will be gratefully received. Please start thinking of what you can do to help! We are in the early stages of organisaon with quite a num- ber of great ideas flowing already. Please support your P & C and aend meengs regularly so that you have the maxi- mum input and support for your school and it’s celebraons. A lot of me, work and organisaon will be needed. I know a lot of you aended this school or have parents, grandpar- ents and family members who did so there is a lot of local knowledge to share. Who knows maybe some of them have been entered into the PUNISHMENT REGISTER’. How many strokes or cuts of the cane did they receive?? What for you ask, maybe for ‘wring immoral words’, ‘throwing a paper’, ‘whispering’, ‘disorder’, ’careless marching’ or perhaps ‘persistent late- ness’. My how mes have changed. How about ‘wilfully sucking pens and pencils’. Six cuts of the cane is the most I can see, he must have been a very naughty boy!!!!! Mrs Waters Straord Public School has a Facebook Page! Assembly Awards Week 3 Infants: Krystal for her continued enthusiastic approach to her learning. Krystal is always asking questions and joining in with a happy and confident manner. Well done! Primary: Lilly for her mature and sensible approach to ‘fair play’ in the playground and her all round kindness to oth-ers. Great attributes Lilly! Citizenship: Elizabeth for her ‘much appreciated’ assis-tance to Mrs Hughes in helping the infants change their home readers each day. Liz carries this out in a no fuss manner and does so without being asked. Also, for her care in cleaning up others rubbish without being asked. Great citizenship skills! Thumbs Up Awards: Erwin, Krystal, Malia, Brady, Eve, Con-nor, Hayden, Tiera, Indira, Kelsey, Elizabeth and Lilly. A big pat on the back to our awards winners. Keep up the fantas-tic work.

AASC Our two activities are under way for Term 1 and the chil-dren are thoroughly enjoying their sessions with Belinda for Squash and Fundamental Ball Skills with Dani. The weather has been perfect with all students enjoying the lessons. Please remem-ber to always send your children with a water bottle to school.
