Lean UX A plead for UX as part of the development cycle

description

Why do we build websites, applications, software, …? I would think because we want to give the user information, tools to work with, making their lives easier. And yet, so many users get frustrated not finding what they are looking for, doing things and expecting to get different results. Helpdesks get overwhelmed with support tickets for help. Development teams have to do redesigns and make – sometimes massive – changes to make customers happy. In this session at the Agile.net conference we’ll tap into the world of UX. We’ll demystify the buzz words UX, Usability, User Experience, … We’ll make UX tangible by using it in real-life cases. We’ll finally bite the bullet and explore who should be the UX guy or girl in your company. Most importantly we’ll make UX part of the development process helping teams get more happy users, lowering development and support costs. We’ll make UX Lean.

The next buzz word ;-)
10. Lean = maximize customer value + minimize waste
Eliminating waste along entire value streams, instead of at isolated points, creates processes that need less human effort, less space, less capital, and less time to make products and services at far less costs and with much fewer defects, compared with traditional business systems. Companies are able to respond to changing customer desires with high variety, high quality, low cost, and with very fast throughput times. Also, information management becomes much simpler and more accurate.
11. Lean = for manufacturing?
Lean applies in every business and every process. It is not a tactic or a cost reduction program, but a way of thinking and acting for an entire organization.
12. Lean UX?
Implementation of a structured improvement process in the development cycle to create a maximum user experience.
