It was a real night of fun, love, and laughter when the Philippine Divas Kuh Ledesma, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Nanette Inventor, and Mitch Valdes serenaded a jam-packed SMX Convention Center – Bacolod on February 16, 2019.

The DIVAS sang their popular songs accompanied by the peals of laughter and old - fashioned jokes in between courtesy of comediennes – singers, Nanette and Mitch. The lively audience was thrilled and pleased when they heard Kuh sang her signatures songs from the 70s to the ‘90s like Till I Met You, One More Try, I Think I’m In Love, Dito Ba, among others. While Zsa Zsa sang her famed songs Kahit Na, Hiram, Ikaw Lamang and nonstop medley of songs with other Divas. Diva2Diva2 in Bacolod was the first restaging of the show after its successful series of performances in the USA. Kuh said that she is so happy that the show is for a worthy cause because it benefits the children of Kalipay.

Home Manager and Registered Nurse, Johanna Daroy, conducted psychosexual education seminar in one of Kalipay’s Homes, Recovered

Treasures, along with Resident Psychologist Isabelle Victoria Coscoluella and Head of Social Services Adelita C. Lemay on February 27, 2019.

The seminar covered various topics such as safe and unsafe touches among children and staff, correct use of biological terminologies, and the

reproductive system.

PSYCHOSEXUAL EDUCATION SESSION

Kuh Ledesma visited Kalipay’s shelter, Haven Home, last February 06, 2019. Kuh, who last visited Kalipay in April 2018,

spent her time catching up with our little ones and the staff after spending her morning doing media promotions for their

upcoming Diva2Diva2 concert on February 16, 2019 for the benefit of rebuilding Kalipay’s home in Bago City, Recovered

Treasures.

Astrid Hocking was awarded Kalipay’s first Honorary Board Member by its Founder and President Anna Balcells and Board Members Gigi Campos, John Gayoso, Cristina Montenegro, Alan

Gensoli and Dr. Ana Macasa Sanson on February 12, 2019. Astrid manages Hearts and Hands, a non-government organization

based in Australia which has been Kalipay’s partner for many years. She also started the Umbrella Hearts Ribbon campaign

which was launched both in Australia and the Philippines with the slogan “It is not OK to hurt a child, every day it is not OK.”

KALIPAY WELCOMES ASTRID HOCKING AS HONORARY BOARD MEMBER

Last February 05, 2019, Kalipay held a press conference with Kuh Ledesma in SM Bacolod’s Atrium for upcoming Diva2Diva2 concert to be held on February 16, 2019. Present in the press conference, were different media personalities

from SunStar, Magic 106, Easy Rock, and Love Radio.

The concert is held in the benefit of Kalipay’s continuing campaign in rebuilding one of its shelter, Recovered Treasures in Bago City. Kalipay aims to improve and to expand its facilities in hope of sheltering more

disadvantaged children.

Rosario Ortoll was awarded Honorary Member of the Board of Trustees by Kalipay’s Founder and President Anna Balcells on March 14, 2019. Present during the awarding were Board Members Cristina Montenegro and John Gayoso. Rosario

and her brother, Jorge Ortoll, were responsible for generously donating Kalipay’s school in Recovered Treasures, Kalipay Learning Center, in 2016 in memory of their mother Concepcion Z. De Ortoll. They have been selflessly committed to

helping Kalipay since it started in 2012 until now.

Businesswoman Denise Go Yap has volunteered to tirelessly teach our children basic and advanced sewing. The sewing machines they use were donated by Hearts and Hands Community Development Australia headed by

Astrid Hocking who has been a longtime volunteer of Kalipay and comes back every year. The children have expressed their enthusiasm and commitment with the sewing classes by creating different kinds of clothing with their own

creative touch.
