• All x3250 M2 and x3350 SKUs will announce January 15th and the General Availability for some models is scheduled for mid-February. However, the General Availability of the Yorkfield based systems has slipped to the right and is now sitting in April. This affects the E3320, 3350, and 3360 SKUs. The January CTP has been updated to reflect these changes.
E3320 – 2.5GHz, 6MB L2 Cache E3350 – 2.66GHz, 12MB L2 Cache E3360 – 2.83GHz, 12MB L2 Cache
• New x3550 and x3650 Quad Core 1333MHz FSB, 12M L2 Cache models announced Nov 13th and achieved
General Availability on Jan 7th. This is a processor speedbump only and there are no other changes to the models. All other options remain the same.

News • As of December 2007, the x3105 is EOL. Transition customers to x3200 and/or x3200 M2. • All x3200 M2 SKUs will announce January 15th and the General Availability for some models is scheduled for

Optical Drives Half-High Drives The Half-high optical drives that we currently offer with our Tower servers are reaching end of life. Suppliers are converting from the current PATA attached drives to SATA optical drives. The current HH optical drive Sales Building Blocks and Options will be going end of life. Today, we offer 2 optical drive Options: a CD Burner drive and a DVD Burner drive. Both of these options will reach end of life during 1Q 2008. We will offer a SATA DVD Burner as Sales Building Blocks, so Sales Reps will be able to offer them to customers as a variant or a custom model.

Slim-line Drives The new rack-optimized servers that we plan to launch in late 2007 and beyond (such as Athena) will use a new mounting mechanism for the slim-line optical drive. We have started calling these drives UltraSlim Enhanced to distinguish them from the existing UltraSlim drives. You will not be able to use the older UltraSlim drives in the new Servers (or vice versa). Based on the PLMT's response to our Charter request for the HH Drive, we do not plan to try and Charter any UltraSlim Enhanced drives as Options. These new drives will only be available as Sales Building Blocks. In 2H 2008, Slim-line drives will undergo the same transition as we see occurring in HH drives -- a conversion from PATA to SATA. At that point, all the existing Optical Drive Options will have reached End of Life. At that point, we will stop offering any Optical Drives as stand-alone Options. Memory:
• 16GB kits (8GB x 2) for the x3455, x3655,x3755 , x3850 M2, x3950 M2 will GA is 2Q’08 • 39M5867 4GB kit dual rank (2 x 2GB) has been emergency withdrawn and we are asking all

Server Consolidation (SCON) Course (Target: BPs & IBMers) SCON skills transfer course is 3-day rigorous training in SCON methodology, Tools and the development of compelling server consolidation proposals to win SCON business. The course will cover the details of SCON methodology, tools and best practices. The methodology includes the collection data from the server environment, evaluation of the data, SCON island analysis, selection of SCon solution strategies to fit the environment, SCON solution development and TCO analysis. The course will include workshops on data collection (CDAT tool) and TCO. There will be an extra day to cover VMware in depth. This course will be held in Sao Paulo from February 26th to 29th. Raleigh Latin America TechTours (Target: Customers) This event helps you to influence the customer to buy IBM solutions. A two day event in RTP Executive Briefing Center with IBM specialists will clarify all IBM differentiators.
