    Celebration

    GIVE LAVISHLY! LIVE ABUNDANTLY!

The more you give, the more you get— The more you laugh, the less you fret— The more you do unselfishly, The more you live abundantly… The more of everything you share, The more you’ll always have to spare— The more you love, the more you’ll find That life is good and friends are kind…

For only what we give away, Enriches us from day to day. --Helen Steiner Rice

I would like to remind you of the Capital Campaign that is being held to fund the building of our brand new hospital in Shiloh. As you know, our Auxiliary had a very important part in the building of Memorial Hospital over 50 years ago. We are very proud of our hospital and the excellent care our physicians, nurses and technicians provide. This time it is your opportunity to take part in the Capital Campaign for Memorial East. Won’t you please join me and others in pledging, what you are able, to help build this new hospital that will bring additional physicians, nurses and technicians to the Metro East.

How many people can say, “I had a part in funding this new hospital.” Take a leisurely drive by the site and watch it become a reality!

Belleville’s Memorial Hospital will also be renovating their rooms, making each room private, after the completion and opening of Memorial East. The Capital Campaign will also accept donations to be used toward the renovation of our main campus.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

    Sandy JaskowiakAuxiliary President

    From the President...

    You are invited...

Memorial Hospital was named the BEST HOSPITAL by the Belleville News Democrat Readers’ Choice Awards. Congratulations to all of you – it is because of your dedication to providing exceptional healthcare and compassionate service that consumers chose us as #1! Thank you! In addition, three Memorial Medical Group physicians were named among the TOP PHYSICIANS in the Readers’ Choice voting. Congratulations to Dr. Beatriz-Ramos Pardo for coming in FIRST PLACE and to Dr. David Rawdon and Dr. James Wade, who tied for THIRD PLACE.

    CARE CENTER

Words can never adequately convey the incredible impact of our attitudes toward life. The longer I live the more convinced I am that life is 10

percent what happens to us and 90 percent

    how we respond to it.

    Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed at the Care Center reception desk - both morning and afternoon shifts are available. We also need volunteers to

take the book cart out in the afternoon, which takes approximately one hour.

The Gift Shop would love to have volunteers trained to take out the candy cart and to volunteer in the Gift Shop

who have the ability and desire to work in a retail operation.

There are a variety of other clerical opportunities available throughout the week. Call Carole in the Auxiliary Office for details.

    Disposal of Expired Medications

    Memorial Hospital is continuing to

collect your unused or expired drugs or

health supplements and dispose of them

    according to Illinois

    EPA regulations.

    You can bring them

    to the Auxiliary

    Office during office

    hours.

The time cards have a new look. They are now all white with a box at the top to identify yourself as an adult, junior or student volunteer. Be certain to check the appropriate box and print your name at the top of the card, then list the service in which you are working. If you work in more than one service, designate each service and time. Sign out after completing your assigned shift. You may have timecards at multiple locations throughout the hospital during the month.

It is important that you do not sign in and out at the same time.

Sign in at a volunteer time card box when reporting for duty.
