Education is very vital tool that is used in the contemporary world to succeed. It is important because it is used to mitigate most of the challenges faced in life. The knowledge that is gained through education helps open doors to a lot of opportunities for better prospects in career path. It is a means to empower children. No doubt the privileged children receive good quality education throughout the globe. But, the problem prevails with the underprivileged children, who despite their eagerness to learn and express, will not be accessible even to the basic education.

There are many initiatives by the Government and NGOs to uplift the status of the underprivileged children by providing and supporting them by good education. But the percentage of the beneficiaries is still below average.

Canara Bank Relief and Welfare Society since the year 1988 is supporting the education of the underprivileged children through its Educational Sponsorship Programme. Each year good number of children are identified and are taken into the protective fold of the Institution. Starting from the Primary class till the completion of their Vocational/Degree/Professional course, CBR&WS supports the students to a considerable extent. Thanks to the Donors who join hands with us in this noble journey.

Through Sponsorship Programme, the Society aims at the comprehensive education of the children. Students are exposed to various aspects of learning apart from the school curriculum. Parents and students meetings, individual interactive sessions, entertainment programmes, picnic, group discussions will all be a part of the yearlong activities. The summer camps are also organised for the students. The committed staff members of the Society take care of the needs of children. Their medical needs are met by Sevakshretra Hospital.

The idea of helping the education of the underprivileged children mooted by CBR&WS will act as a tool to change the society to some extent.

Thank you, With Best Wishes

PrakashP.Mallya President

“Failure is the stepping stone for Success” the saying goes. Failures are opportunities. I would like to narrate a classical example of my schoolmate who failed in class 9 successively for two years. This was in the year 1954. His parents were seriously worried about his future. After several years I met him at a function and came to know that he completed CA and today he is heading a leading Audit Firm. In brief he narrated how he came up in life forgetting the failures.

“I was pursuing Chartered Accountancy course. I was not able to clear my exam in the first two attempts but I decided to regard my failure as a stepping stone to turn failure into opportunity that would open up new possibilities. As a result of my efforts, dedication and determination I was able to complete successfully CA examination. Quitting is never a solution”.

It is said, never say that you have failed; always say that your success is bit delayed. Giving up or quitting will not bring any positive result.

Failures are never the end results that certify your incapability – they are opportunities to learn and improve.

Failing at any stage of life never means that we have not worked hard enough; it means that although we have worked hard there was perhaps plenty of scope left for further improvement. Those who discourage others only make them lose all confidence, building up obstacles in the mind of the individual. This trend should not be encouraged. Everyone has potential and it is always good to appreciate capabilities of others and boost their self-esteem. We will have to take our failures as challenges and opportunities to improve ourself. Nothing is impossible.

One you do not remember, the other you call Mother Two different lives shaped to make you one

One became your guiding star, the other became your sun The first one gave you life, and the second taught you to live it

The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name

One gave you a talent, the other gave you aim One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears

One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried you tears One made an adoption plan, that was all that she could do

The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you. Now, which of these two women, Are you the product of? Both, my darling, Both, Just two different types of love.”
