El Dorado Hills, California is nestled halfway between the San Francisco Bay Area and the scenicLake Tahoe Basin. As a result of careful planning, wonderful views of both the Sierra NevadaMountains and the Sacramento Valley, and recreation choices at nearby Folsom Lake, El DoradoHills has become one of Northern California’s most prestigious residential communities, and isrecognized nationally for its high quality of life ranking 77th in Money Magazine’s “Best 100Places to Live” in 2007. El Dorado Hills is the largest community in El Dorado County, and is partof the Sacramento Metropolitan Area just 22 miles from Sacramento and has a current populationof over 35,000 residents.

This is an area of amazing growth and economic development. An important part of El DoradoHills’ future is the 885-acre El Dorado Hills Business Park where many of California’s thrivingfirms have relocated. The Business Park is home to many businesses that are major employersthroughout the county and city and currently has over 4,000 employees. Located near the BusinessPark is Blue Shield of California that also has over 1000 employees and is a major business in ElDorado Hills. Within 6 miles of El Dorado Hills is Intel Computer Center. Intel employs over6500 people and is a great addition to the community with its highly skilled labor force.

A plethora of history and a wide variety of recreational choices provides something for everyone.These choices may include gold panning at nearby Marshall Gold Discovery Site in Coloma,whitewater rafting on the American River, alpine skiing in the Sierras, camping, fishing, golfing,biking the many country roads, water sports and camping at Folsom Lake as well as hiking trailsaround the lake. Folsom Lake has seventy-seven miles of shoreline and is one of the most heavilyused recreational areas in the state. With elevations ranging from 200 feet to over 10,800 feet, thereis tremendous diversity and much to discover throughout El Dorado County. Residents enjoyoutlet shopping in nearby Folsom, taking in a movie at the new theater complex, or a morningouting at the farmers market in The Town Center. An afternoon excursion to the many localwineries that have become famous in the county is very popular, as well as Apple Hill, for its farms,bake shops, and breweries.
