There’s even more to Sound Waves Spelling Online than lesson guides and projectable slideshows. Let’s have a look!

Preparation and planningImportant documents for the year, such as the Scope and Sequence, a collation of all of the Helpful Hints in one handy place, letters to parents and more.

Assessment, diagnosis and remediation Each year level includes dedicated assessment that allows you to monitor your students’ progress.

Foundation Skills Checklist and Remediation Pack: This pack includes end-of-term assessment that allows teachers to monitor a student’s ability to identify and use the phonemes and graphemes introduced in the Foundation program. It also includes games, activities and worksheets for targeted remediation where required.

Content Reviews (new): These mid and end-of-term reviews for Years 1–6 assess students’ understanding of phoneme–grapheme relationships and previously taught concepts. The eight reviews per year level include single word and sentence dictation, plus spelling and vocabulary activities.

Spelling Diagnostic Test and Remediation Pack: This pack includes an assessment administered in Semester 1 and again in Semester 2 in Years 1–6. The test allows teachers to diagnose students’ strengths and weaknesses in specific spelling concepts. The pack provides games, activities and worksheets for targeted remediation where required.
