Shutterfly SitesWebsites have gotten easier to make.

Dreamweaver is for programmers and yet most of the Goleta school sites still use it.

Google Sites is a simple web-based website creation site. Web-based websites are new &

fresh! Easy to use and easy to manage.

Shutterfly, a photo business company, has created a new type of web-based website. One

with email updates, preset options like a calendar, class list, and shared/collaborative tools like a

photo album.

This is a guide for setting up a Shutterfly site for your classroom. A special thanks to Emily Izmirian who started the movement and added the “likes”

and “dislikes” on the next page.

Dislikes:* emails about each change (can be disabled, but it takes effort)* not tied to your Goleta gmail* limited top toolbar* not good if families don’t have internet/ smartphones and you only update them via the site

My suggestion is to keep what you need (Class News & Updates section, Contact Info,

Links, Files, etc.)And build from there.

After you complete your site, I would make a flier, see/use below, and have the families subscribe immediately. Those who have Internet /email @ home, work, or on their

smartphone.
