International Students’ Cell (ISC) provides assistance to the international students by taking care of their
academics and other activities in coordination with all the constituent Institutes of CHARUSAT through “a
unique single-window system”.
The ISC also includes:
• Assistance to provide due information about the academics, accommodation, health insurance and
transportation facilities
• Coordination with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs and
Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MEA & MHRD) and with different Embassies and
Consulates

Detailed Admission Process1. General
i. The prospective foreign students have to fulfil the eligibility conditions, including the required
qualifying degree and marks/grades, as prescribed hereunder. However, the decision of CHARUSAT
shall prevail.
ii. Non Resident Indian (NRI) students with Indian Passport are Indian Nationals and therefore, cannot be
considered as International Students.
iii. The prospective foreign students should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December to
be considered for admission.
iv. Under this category only the students who have studied and passed the qualifying examinations from a
school/ college/ university located in foreign country shall be considered. This will include the student
studying in schools and/or colleges situated in foreign country, even if concerned school/college is
affiliated to/accredited by any Board of Secondary, Higher Secondary Education or a University in India.

Obtain Equivalence Certificate from“Association of Indian Universities”, New Delhi
I.S. Cell will check eligibility and issue the Provisional Admission (Offer letter) Letter,
Procure valid Student Visa from Indian Embassy
After Obtaining Provisional Admission and student visa pay initial instalment of fees($ 1000) for confirming Admission.
A Confirmed Admission Letter (Acceptance Letter) will be issued fromI.S. Cell of CHARUSAT
Pay the remaining Tution Fees, Hostel Fees
The Student has to report to I.S.Cell upon arrival

4. Requisites for Admission of International Students
• The students, who have studied in schooling system other than 10+2, should submit transcripts/ grade
sheets from Grade 9 onwards for determination of eligibility.
• The candidate shall obtain equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU), New
Delhi. Procedure is described in subsequent passages.
• The single point access for Admission of international students will be International Students' Cell (ISC).
• A student has the option of filling up the application form either online or offline by downloading the form
and sending filled up form to ISC. In both the modes, students should ensure the payment of Application
Processing Fees.
• Applications should be accompanied by copies of relevant certificates, marks sheets with the English
version of such copies duly attested, if they are in a different language.
• Students appearing in their final examination in March/April 2017 of which results to be declared in
May/June 2017, can enclose their prelims/prefinal/preboard results and thereafter send/ submit their
final results to the CHARUSAT as soon as it is available to ascertain their eligibility.
• Students who will be writing their IB Diploma or GCE 'A' level examination in May/June 2017 will have to
enclose their forecast/predicted results certified by the school head.
• ISC will issue the provisional admission letter after thorough verification. This will facilitate visa process
and other formal procedures.
• Student shall pay the initial instalment of Fees to secure their admission by release of confirmed
admission letter before reporting to CHARUSAT.
• The student has to report to ISC, CHARUSAT upon arrival and has to complete the remaining formalities.
• The international students will have to pay the fees in US dollars. In special cases, payment of fees in the
equivalent Indian Rupees may be considered.
• All foreign nationals seeking admission to the University will be required to produce a medical certificate
of fitness from a recognized hospital in their country.
4 (A) Equivalence Certificate from AIU
For issue of Equivalence Certificate, US $ 200 or equivalent Indian currency payable through Demand
Draft favouring "Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi” is required.

4 (B) Visa
All the international students should have valid student visa endorsed for CHARUSAT for joining full time
courses. Students willing to join a research programme will require a research visa endorsed to this
Institution.
All international students wishing to undertake any research work or join a Ph. D programmes will have
to obtain prior security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the approval of Department of
Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Acknowledgement will be sent by email only to the candidate/parents.

Orientation and other details prior to the commencement of classes along with the date of final registration at /
by ISC, CHARUSAT.
Step 7: Reporting at ISC and Final Registration
• Candidates, after confirmed admission, are advised to intimate about their arrival schedule and boarding
details to ISC Representative. (Contact Details are available in the Admission Letter/ Mail).
• The candidate must reach CHARUSAT campus at least 02 days prior to the commencement of classes and
contact to the ISC Representative for registration. If the candidate reaches the campus after office hours, ISC
Representative will guide them for their accommodation and undertake registration on the next day.
• For registration, the candidates must submit their original/official mark sheets/ transcripts and other
documents as listed in the confirmed admission letter.
Step 8: Registration at Foreigner's Registration Office (FRO)
All foreign students have to compulsorily register with the FRO within 14 days of their arrival in India and obtain
the Registration Certificate (RC) and Registration Permit (RP). ISC will provide necessary assistance in this

The Multispecialty CHARUSAT Hospital provides 24 hours Medical Services all year round for general as well as
emergency health requirements.
CHARUSAT will be taking Health Insurance of all the foreign students.
• All admissions are subject to fulfilment of all the eligibility conditions by the candidate. At a later stage,
during active verification, the candidate found guilty of false/ forged/ concealed information/certificate he/
she will be subject to cancellation of Admission with zero refund of any fees.
• Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of content at the time of publication of the
prospectus, CHARUSAT reserves all the rights to amend or alter information without notice.
• CHARUSAT also reserves the right to change the curriculum, course structure and the rules relating to

conventional electromechanical and sophisticated numerical relays for
transformer, generator, motor, bus bar and transmission line
protection. ABB Make REJ 525, SPAU 130C, REM 543, ICM21kp;

CDD32EG are installed for the demonstration of power system
protection relaying.
It is embedded microcontroller laboratories equipped with low end to
high end microcontroller platforms like 8051, fast C8051f120 - CIP51
core, PIC, ARM-M3, ARM-M4 and Texas Make TMS320F28335 floating
point processors. In addition, the lab also provides a recent platform of
FPGA and supporting software and compliers like KEIL, Micro-C, Code
Composer Studio and Altium
It is developed to conduct experiments for understating and
implementing the control strategies of power electronics devices. The
lab is equipped with of chopper and inverter modules, Digital Storage
Oscilloscope, Harmonic analyzer, most advanced DSPACE – ACE 1103
Kit and AC-DC Drives based on DSP control.
The Lab is equipped with transformers, induction machines,
synchronous machines and direct current machines. To demonstrate
the working principle of these machines and to evaluate their
performance characteristic, a fundamental lab on Electrical Machines
has been established with ample number of machine sets and in house
developed experimental panels.
100 kV AC/DC cascade transformers and 150 kV Impulse Voltage
generation facility is exclusively available in HV lab along with sphere

M & V Patel Department of Electrical Engineering, a constituent
department of CSPIT, is committed to excel both in teaching and
research.
Power System Protection Lab: The lab is equipped with the
conventional electromechanical and sophisticated numerical relays for
transformer, generator, motor, bus bar and transmission line
protection. ABB Make REJ 525, SPAU 130C, REM 543, ICM21kp;
Siemens Make 7SJ600; Alstom Make MICOM 444, CDG11, CDD21,
CDD32EG are installed for the demonstration of power system
protection relaying.
It is embedded microcontroller laboratories equipped with low end to
high end microcontroller platforms like 8051, fast C8051f120 - CIP51
core, PIC, ARM-M3, ARM-M4 and Texas Make TMS320F28335 floating
point processors. In addition, the lab also provides a recent platform of
FPGA and supporting software and compliers like KEIL, Micro-C, Code
Composer Studio and Altium
It is developed to conduct experiments for understating and
implementing the control strategies of power electronics devices. The
lab is equipped with of chopper and inverter modules, Digital Storage
Oscilloscope, Harmonic analyzer, most advanced DSPACE – ACE 1103
Kit and AC-DC Drives based on DSP control.
The Lab is equipped with transformers, induction machines,
synchronous machines and direct current machines. To demonstrate
the working principle of these machines and to evaluate their
performance characteristic, a fundamental lab on Electrical Machines
has been established with ample number of machine sets and in house
developed experimental panels.
100 kV AC/DC cascade transformers and 150 kV Impulse Voltage
generation facility is exclusively available in HV lab along with sphere
gap assembly, electrolytic tank, horn gap arrestor, BDV and Tan-Delta
Kit.

which facilitate the students for practical training and

1. Fundamental of Civil Engineering
The laboratory is designed to give practical exposure in
five different areas of civil engineering viz. Surveying and

The first SOPHOS information security lab is established in Gujarat.
The lab is equipped with latest security software and high end
configured PCs in collaboration with Sophos Security Pvt. Ltd.
(Formerly Cyberroam).
Virtual(Augmented) Reality Lab
The Virtual Reality Lab is the first of its kind lab established for the
higher education. The lab is setup with 14 zSpace PCs including 3D
graphics and VR software. CHARUSAT is working on collaborative
VR project between CHARUSAT and Harrisburg University, USA.

studies and research, to provide research and development consultancy, to establish bridge between university
and industry to provide services to industries and to community.
Primarily, the expertise of the centre include Opto-Electronic, Advance Technology, RF & Microwave Team,
Image Processing and Opto-Mechanical Design, Structural and Thermal Analysis.
The Centre has the following consultancy projects from various space and defence institutions which include
IRDE-DRDO (2 Research Projects), IPR-Ahmedabad (4 Research Projects), SWI-USA (1 Research Project), CRL-
BEL (1 Research Project), SAC-ISRO (4 Research Projects).
