Who am I?• French Immersion Teacher with
Regina Public Schools since 2005 • I have been a 4-8 Classroom Teacher• Currently a Teacher Librarian (.4) &
a 6-8 Social Studies and Science Specialist (.6)
In my classroom,we are all about…
CONNECTED LEARNING
• We learn about ourselves and how we learn and talk about it a lot.
• We learn about the world around us. (Teacher Model, Investigate, Collaborate, Share, Reflect)
• We do our own investigations using the inquiry model and develop projects to demonstrate how we solve problems.
• We are in a constant cycle of: self-reflection, questioning, group-reflection, feedback, self-reflection

What we ended up buying…25 HP Mini Netbooks• To have easy access to the web for our blogs, Google docs, etc.
2 iMacs• For creation of videos and podcasts.
20 8GB iPod Touches• For Internet access and use of educational apps.• Listening to and viewing or sharing our own creations.
3 Kodak Zi6 pocket video cameras• For easy video recording using an SD card.
1 Digital Nikon SLR Camera• To easily photograph school events and activities for yearbook and videos.

Examples of some of our projects
• Participated in global collaborative writing projects.
• Documented our world in one day and are now part of a Hollywood documentary
• Made connections to global disasters and raised funds to support victims.
• Supported an Olympic Athlete to win Gold in Vancouver.
• Made Canadian history come to life through Heritage Fair.
My advice…• Fire - Find our your students passions• Outcomes - Connect it to the curriculum• Social - Jump right in and learn with them
