161,000 people were displaced by Superstorm Sandy Nearly one year later, an estimated 20,000 families have not been able to return to their homes

We started rebuilding in March and as of September 1, 2013, A Future with Hope has:

Put 9 families back into their homes Started construction on an additional 20 homes Hosted more than 3,000 volunteers from 21 statesWorked with more than 150 families who need help rebuilding their lives and homes

The United Methodist Church can make a difference. Local church mission is the foundation of a vital congregation. Bishop John Schol Local ministries build up the community of faith and transform lives and social conditions in the community and the world.

Together we are making a difference. 25% of all funds raised stay in the local church for mission. Churches can decide how to use their mission funds:
