(21st CENTURY)

SUMMARY

Two sisters, Eva and Ava, decide to follow in the footsteps of their ancestor and go to Iceland, where they meet

Hans, the guide who will lead them on a journey to the centre of the planet. The two sisters are very different: one

lives in the world of science and technology; whilst the other is romantic, a true humanist. But their different

knowledge will be most useful during a descent in which they will encounter amazing beings and landscapes, as well

as cultural residues that humanity has left behind over time. Our dancers-cum-leading actors will perform classical

choreographies, breakdance and contemporary dance as they travel through underground worlds produced using

digital imagery. To this end, Franc Aleu, an audiovisual artist who has worked in theatre, dance and opera

productions seen on some of the world’s most famous stages, creates all kinds of moving images and virtual

characters. In short, a Jules Verne for the twenty-first century.

Coproduction: Grec 2015 Festival de Barcelona, Roseland Musical and Sant Andreu Teatre SaT!

________________________________________________________________ FRANC ALEU: Multidisciplinary artist

Visual artist, at present candidate Goya Award for Best New Director for the film El somni del Celler de Can Roca,

winner of the 2013 edition of Premis Nacionals de cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya in the audiovisual section

for the impact of his visual creations that make a singular and unique, emotional stage experience. Through its scenic

theaters and opera houses in the world such as El Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, La Scala in Milan, La Monnaie

in Brussels , the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, the Florence Maggio and Taschenoper Wiener Vienna among others.

This allowed him to work with the most prestigious conductors in the world, Zubin Mehta, Valery Georgiev, Lorin

Maazel and Kirill Petrenko.

His eclecticism makes his work to cover other creative disciplines such as visual projections on facades of landmark

buildings (mappings Barcelona’s city hall, the Catalan Parliament, etc..), Advertising, design, conceptualization and

direction of all kinds of events , the architectural design of exhibition pavilions as happened in the Expo Zaragoza

2008 where he designed the exhibition building Extreme Water, conceptualized and he also conducted all the

exhibition content of the building. Besides his artistic side, he gives master classes and lectures about his work in

major European cultural centers such as Milan, Cologne, Madrid and Barcelona. http://www.francaleu.com

Franc Aleu and El Celler de Can Roca lead us to el somni of all senses.

The image, the art, the music, the taste and smell, are united in a cross-media work piece: an opera-dinner about the cyclical journey of human existence. A dream through twelve emotions that takes us to the table where the dinner will be held, where the kitchen and video creation are transformed into a new artistic experience. A reference piece of art and cuisine that breaks the boundaries of creation themselves to offer a total perception of beauty.
