  • Wednesday 25: Depart USA for Ireland - Depart USA on your overnight flight to Dublin, Ireland. Please be sure to

    have your up to date passport valid for at least 6 months beyond date of travel.

    Thursday 26: Dublin - Glendalough & Mount Juliet

    Arrive Dublin airport, and after clearing customs and immigration your driver/guide will be waiting to take you

    south to Glendalough, the 6th century monastic settlement founded by St Kevin. After a guided tour continue to

    Thomastown and Mount Juliet in Co. Kilkenny to check-in to your hotel. Time to relax and enjoy the facilities of

    the estate and a welcome dinner.

    Friday 27: Cushendale - Suzanna Crampton - Zwartbles Farm

    Breakfast, followed by a visit with Suzanna Crampton at Zwartbles Farm and a lovely lunch. The farm gets its

    name from the rare Zwartable sheep, which are known for their chocolate brown color. The fleece from the

    sheep is sourced by Cushendale Woollen Mills to produce their fine products. We then visit Cushendale where

    you will experience how they process the wool and see the end product. Return to Mount Juliet for an afternoon

    class with Misty on wool prep and spinning. Free for dinner this evening in Thomastown.

    Saturday 28: Waterford

    Leisurely morning with late departure to meet with Fiona Waters of Green Elephant Hand Dyed Yarn at the

    Coastguard Cultural Centre in Tramore. In the later afternoon explore the Medieval Museum and tour with a

    docent to see the spectacular Cloths of Heaven, Pre-Reformation vestments embroidered in Belgium. Dinner in a

    local pub before returning to Mount Juliet.

    Sunday 29: Waterford to Ennis (via Little Island) - Hedgehog Fibers - Liz O Connor

    Depart Thomastown and make your way across towards Cork to visit Hedgehog Fibers.

    Continue north to Ennis for overnight. This evening you will be joined by Liz O Connor, who

    will chat to you about the history of spinning in Ireland. Liz is a passionate spinner and a

    member of the Laine Medieval Crafters who demonstrate traditional Viking and Medieval

    crafting. Liz is also a member of the Irish Guild of Spinners, Weaver and Dyers. Dinner at the

    hotel this evening.

    Monday 30: Ennis to Galway via the Cliffs of Moher

    Following breakfast depart Ennis and travel out to Lahinch and on to the Cliffs of Moher, rising a sheer 700ft

    from the ocean. Continue through the Burren with a visit to Ekotree Knitwear Studio, Irish designers and makers

    of knitwear using the highest quality natural yarns, and on to Galway City as you make your way to

    Ballynahinch Castle for dinner and overnight.

    Tuesday 01 Oct: Connemara Day Tour - Killary Sheep Farm - Leenane Sheep & Wool Centre

    After breakfast, enjoy a day tour of Connemara with a visit to the Killary Sheep Farm to see sheep dogs herding

    the sheep. Also, enjoy a visit to the Leenane Sheep and Wool Centre, whose mission aims to foster awareness of

    the traditional sheep and wool industry in Connemara. Return to Ballynahinch for a relaxing evening and dinner .

  • Monday 30: Ballyvaughan to Dublin

    We leave Ballyvaughan and travel east across the midlands where you can visit

    Tullamore Dew to see how Irish whiskey is made, before arriving in Dublin for a

    panoramic tour of the city. Check-in to the hotel with evening at leisure for time

    on your own in Dublin.

    Tuesday 01: Constant Knitter - Kieran Foley & Aoibhe Ni. Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit with Rosemary Murphy at the Constant nitter

    Yarn Shop for a Trunk Show and conversation with Kieran Foley. Kieran likes to

    experiment with knitting techniques and color and gets his inspiration from travels to

    Greece, Morocco, Iceland, and of course Ireland. Also, meet with Aoibhe Ni, an Irish

    designer who was taught to crochet by her mother at the age of 12. Aoibhe pioneers a

    new form of crochet that combines elements of Tunisian Lace patterns and knitting to

    create light, airy lace designs. She has been published frequently in magazines and

    teaches in Dublin and abroad. In the afternoon you will have more time to explore the

    knitting scene in Dublin. Dinner at leisure this evening.

    Thursday 03: Dublin - Return to the USA

    Depart your hotel and travel to Dublin Airport for your return flight home.

    Wednesday 02: Ballynahinch - Beth Moran

    Breakfast and morning at leisure to enjoy Ballynahinch Castle and spend some time

    with Misty spinning. In the early afternoon meet with Beth Moran at Ballynahinch.

    Beth’s main focus is on color and pattern with each piece being unique. Her range of

    work runs from very fine silk to home grown, home spun naturally dyed rugs. Beth

    lives on Clare Island and the unspoiled environment affords a unique opportunity for

    inspiration from the landscape and the people. Beth will be staying at Ballynahinch and

    will join you for dinner this evening.

    Thursday 03: Connemara - Galway - Brigit’s Garden - Dublin

    Depart Ballynahinch for Brigit’s Garden and discover the heart of Celtic Mythology.

    These unique Celtic Gardens are set within 11 acres of native woodland and wildflower

    meadows. Journey into Galway city with some free time before travelling on to Dublin

    with evening at leisure to explore.

    After breakfast, at leisure visit Cleo Ltd Ireland, situated in the heart of the city on

    Kildare Street, specializing in handmade traditional Irish clothing & crafts. Remainder of

    the day free for some last minute shopping and exploring. Farewell dinner this evening

    to end your time in Ireland.

    Sunday 06: Dublin - Return to the USA

    Depart your hotel and travel to Dublin Airport for your return flight home.
