devon

This is my baby sister, Devon. She is an

absolutely breathtaking person. In this picture I wanted to showcase her raw beauty, so I had her wear a solid color and

pose against her bedroom wall. The

straight angle is quite captivating because it puts you in eye contact with her in the frame.

Emily This is my older sister

Emily. I sought to capture her strong personality through

the angel of the shot-making it seems as if the viewer is looking

up at her. She is a person who will

demand your attention, and is never

afraid to speak her mind. The angle of the shot gives the perfect perspective of anyone who firsts meets her.

Lauren

This is my oldest sister, Lauren, with her boyfriend, Matt. The shot captures her personality exactly. She is the most shy out of all of us and she tends to hide herself in her boyfriend’s shadow. She is one of the most beautiful people I know, and her

humility is just one of the many wonderful quirks she has.

This is my grandmother, who I have photographed

before. She is the strongest woman I know. I

photographed her in black and white, using an

analogue camera and scanned it. I felt that using film for her portrait gave it

more of an authentic appearance and I didn’t

want to make any adjustments to the shot. I wanted to show, using the eye to eye angle with her, her personal strength and

grace.

woodard montgomery

My father Woodard Montgomery. I was planning to capture his strength in his portrait, instead I wanted to take a simple picture that captured his quirky personality. My father is a man with a charisma and heart that you cannot overlook. He is a simple man, so I decided on a eye-line shot that would keep the perspective of the viewer equal to his. He is peering off out of the shot, with a simple smile on his face. This is the same

smile he always has on. I love how you can see his smile lines and the winkles on his forehead. It makes the photograph more authentic.

Joyce montgomeryThis is my mother and my sister, Emily. My mother

is the most kind and loving person I know. I

wanted to evoke a sense of her compassion and

her heart in a photograph. This photograph was

especially striking to me; I thought that the black

and white hue of the shot gives it an authentic and

real feeling. The pose gives the viewer a sense of my mother’s heart, as

she holds my sister’s head in her hands and kisses her forehead.
