A Coronavirus Social Story:A Caregiver Wearing a Mask

This is a story about the coronavirus. This is a new virus that makes people sick.

A virus is so small that I cannot see it. But it is still very powerful. It can cause a fever, an ache, and a cough.

This virus spreads between people. If someone near me has the virus, I may catch it.

I can stop the virus from spreading by washing my hands with soap and water often.

I can also stop the spread of the virus by staying home. It is hard when I cannot go to my favorite places but I know this will keep me safe and healthy.

Some people have to go in and out of my home, including the people who take care of me.

To keep from spreading the virus, they may wear a mask. This might seem strange at first, but it is a simple way to keep me healthy.

My caregivers can take care of me like they usually do and protect me from the virus by wearing this mask.

Once the coronavirus is gone, I will enjoy my favorite outings again.

For now, I will stay home and find fun things to do. Some things are different, but I still have people taking care of me and helping me stay safe and healthy.
