The children identify all the groups to which they belong and the friends they have in each group. The activities are designed to encourage the children to appreciate the wide network of friends they have and the importance of humour between friends. WEEK 4 – TERM 4 This week in Peer Support the children learn the need to develop a range of coping strategies. In order to become more resilient, children need to have a number of different ways of coping with difficulties. Through the various activities, children learn to distinguish between helpful, resilient ways of coping and less helpful, non-resilient ways. Discuss with your child the ways they have chosen to cope with difficulties that might arise in their life and encourage them to practise these regularly.

CHESS CLUB TOURNAMENT Congratulations to the chess club members who attended the one-day tournament at Holy Spirit on Thursday. Mr Cox took seven players, making up two teams. They performed really well and had a great day that was full of smiles. There were a total of 26 teams playing in the competition. Team B, made up of Harley, Chelsea, Kayleigh and Davut did a great job in what was the first tournament for most of them. However Team A, with Joshua, Jordan and Baher went even better and finished in 3rd place. In fact, Baher managed an incredible score of 7 wins out of 7. As a result of their super performance, Team A has been invited to compete in the One-Day NSW Finals at the end of the month.

A massive well done to all the students who competed.
