A Community of Beautiful Neighborhoods The Village of Cary is a quaint community that prides itself in having beautiful neighborhoods. Residents are attracted to the village because of its excellent schools, diverse housing, low crime rate, outstanding municipal services, recreational opportunities, accessible transportation and a friendly, small-town atmosphere. The village’s population is 18,271, per the 2010 U.S. Census.
Excellent Schools, Quality Education Cary has excellent, award-winning educational opportunities that include three elementary schools, a junior high and Cary-Grove High School. Cary is also home to a Catholic elementary school and a Christian grade school academy. In addition, McHenry County College, Columbia College and Northern Illinois University all serve Cary residents and have a physical presence in the area.

Accessible Transportation Cary is easily accessible, making it appealing to residents and businesses. Public transit users enjoy the convenience of regular train service to and from Chicago provided by Metra (www.metrarail.com). The Cary community is fortunate to have both U.S. Route 14 and Illinois Route 31 conveniently available to all residents and businesses. In addition, Interstate 90 is less than 20 minutes to the south. Air travel provided by Chicago O’Hare International Airport is less than one hour away.
Business Opportunities Cary is an excellent location for businesses. Major employers of the village include Sage Products Inc., Jewel-Osco, Coilcraft, True Value Manufacturing and Aptar. Cary is home to three major industrial parks, each of which provides modern facilities for all business types. The village works in conjunction with the Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce to help ensure that the needs of the Cary business community are being met. The Chamber and village also coordinate many community events, such as Cary Cruise Night, the Cary Farmers’ Market, SportsFest, Merry Cary Holiday Parade & Festival, and a Halloween Walk. Each year, the Chamber hosts the Community Showcase, a business and community expo, a women’s event and other business and community activities. Recreational Opportunities Cary offers numerous types of recreational activities to its residents. The village is home to three outstanding golf courses, miles of bike paths, boating on the Fox River, picnic shelters, acres of parkland and over 1,500 acres of protected open space either in the community or immediately bordering Cary.
Hometown Flavor Fox River Grove is a small town of approximately 5,000 offering a relaxing blend of hometown flavor, high-quality public services, and a variety of business and recreational opportunities. Part of the Chicago metropolitan region, Fox River Grove borders U.S. Route 14 and State Route 22 is 10 miles north of Interstate 90, and Metra Rail provides commuter rail service to downtown Chicago. Picnic Grove Park, Norge Ski Jump, Bettendorf Castle and the Fox River are well-known attractionsThe Village of Fox River Grove provides administrative, police, water, sewer, park and economic development services. Fox River Grove maintains its small-town appeal with specialty shops along Route 14 that offer auto repair, upholstery repair, quilting, musical instruments and professional services. The local shopping center at the corner of Route 14 and Route 22 includes a supermarket, post office, banks, a drug store, a discount store, a cosmetics store, a hardware store, a chiropractor, a wild bird center and various other businesses. Dining options around town include a supper club, brunch restaurant, various fast food outlets, taverns and ethnic eateries.
