As mayor of the largest city in the state of New Jersey, Cory A. Booker has garnered widespread attention for his continuing efforts at educational reform which have significantly expanded high-quality public education options for families and led to the creation of valuable academic and career development opportunities for the city’s underprivileged youths.

Elise BuikPresident & Chief Executive Officer, United Way of Greater Los Angeles Elise Buik has transformed United Way of Greater Los Angeles from its historical fundraising role into a community impact organization. Under her leadership, UWGLA has launched a 10-year action plan to help tackle poverty in L.A. County with a primary focus on increasing the high school graduation rate.

Antonio R. Villaraigosa Mayor, City of Los Angeles

Since 2005, Antonio R. Villaraigosa has advocated innovative approaches to creating jobs, improving public education and spurring economic development - making L.A. a national model of growth and sustainability. Under his leadership, the city implemented far-reaching educational reforms such as the passage of a $9.1 billion initiative to rebuild and modernize California schools.

Rahm Emanuel Mayor, City of Chicago

Prior to taking office, Rahm Emanuel served as both a Senior Policy Advisor to President Clinton and White House Chief of Staff for President Obama. As Mayor of Chicago, Emanuel has enacted groundbreaking education reforms securing an additional two weeks of instruction per year for elementary school students while launching a $7 billion plan to revitalize the city’s roads, rails and runways.
