Just two miles from Frimley is Camberley which offers two retail centres – The Mall and The Atrium – with a good mix of independent shops, High Street names and places to eat and drink. The Meadows Shopping Centre on the outskirts of town is well known for its huge Marks & Spencer’s store and a 24 hour Tesco superstore. Camberley Theatre is a true community hub providing a programme of music, dance and comedy – and the town has a Vue Cinema. Guildford, Surrey’s county town, approximately 15 miles from Frimley, has a range of outstanding shops, boutiques, café-bars and stylish eateries. The name ‘Frimley’ is derived from the Saxon – ‘Fremma’s Lea’ or ‘Fremma’s clearing’ and, today, the village is still surrounded by open land. Sitting on the borders of Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey, it forms part of Surrey Heath, characterised by rich heathland and open space.

Watchetts Lakes in Camberley boasts three lovely water features which are a haven for wildlife, particularly nesting birds. Lightwater Country Park extends to 59 hectares, taking in open heathland, woodland, meadows and ponds with waymarked walks and nature trails and a panoramic view from High Curley Hill. This stretch of heathland is a protected Site of Special Scientific Interest,

supporting rare wildlife. Nearby Chobham Common, the largest National Nature Reserve in South East England is home to 300 species of wild flowers, 100 species of birds and a wealth of wildlife.

Bracknell Forest has approximately 50 parks and 30 countryside sites to enjoy. A green cycle route runs from Bracknell town centre to the border with Ascot taking in the picturesque Lily Hill Park providing traffic-free paths ideal for exploring the area.

FRIMLEY: AN IDEAL LOCATION

FOR COMMUTERS

From Frimley station, it is possible to be in Camberley in just 4 minutes, in Aldershot within 10 minutes and in Ascot in 20 minutes. The journey time from Frimley to Guildford takes about 40 minutes and to London Waterloo in just over 1 hour. From Farnborough station, less than 3 miles from Frimley, there is a direct rail service to London Waterloo with a journey time of as little as 35 minutes. In fact, Farnborough main station is the hub for trains from as far south as Poole, Portsmouth Harbour and Southampton.

By road, it is approximately 31 miles to London and Frimley offers easy access to the M3 motorway via the A331 Blackwater Valley Road. The M3 provides access to West London, running from Sunbury on Thames to Southampton in Hampshire. This makes it easy to access Winchester and Basingstoke. In the South, the M3 links with the M27 providing access to Southampton, Portsmouth, Chichester and the South Coast towns and also to the New Forest. To the north, the M3 links with the M25 and from there to the M1 and the national motorway network.

London’s Heathrow Airport is approximately 40 minutes’ drive from Frimley and it is possible to reach Gatwick airport in just under an hour. Farnborough Airport, just 15 minutes’ away, is a busy executive jet airport.
