2006 The Governor convened stakeholders from insurance, healthcare and employers to promote a single

effort around quality (GQI)

Initial Partners included Community Care of NC, BCBS, Medicaid, State Health Plan, AHEC and a broad range of

other stake holders

2008 NCHQA was incorporated as a 501C3 not for profit

The First major project was “Improving Performance in Practise” (IPIP)

Foster innovative and sustainable activities and interventions that improve the quality and value of health care.
