The residen al Orpheus & Bacchus Music (& Wine) Fes val has been hos ng excep onal
experiences since 1999 in the heart of the most famous wine region in the world. In the last
three years the Cambridge connec on has been developed with visits by the Clare College Choir
and the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra.
This July we are presen ng an extravaganza of music by Cambridge University musicians:
Orchestral concerts in the fabulous loca ons of Arcachon (on the Atlan c coast),
the historic wine town of St.Emilion, Eglise Notre Dame in Bergerac, and the
beau ful Abbaye de Cadouin in the Dordogne.
A series of concerts at our Domaine du Faure with some of the best chamber
music ensembles and soloists.
Late night Jazz concerts
With the fes val taking place when the sun is hot, the nights are short, the chef is great, the
wines are fresh, the three swimming pools are warm, the environment should be ideal at Do‐
maine du Faure, conveniently located between Bordeaux and Bergerac airports. It is set in 20
acres, with golf, tennis, croquet, boules on site.
The orchestra’s concerts provide the opportunity to experience some of the most beau ful
& interes ng local a rac ons, and in addi on there will be visits to wine châteaux including
Haut Brion, Première Grand Cru Classé.
Life is short (as are number of places—only 15 double/twin rooms are available) and we
promise a unique combina on of the best things in life.

programmes in four spectacular

On the Sunday evening they will give
Programme 1 (Mozart: Figaro Over‐
ture, Ravel: Piano Concerto in G,
Beethoven: Symphony No.5 ‐ soloist
Patrick Milne, conductor Ben Glass‐
berg) in the oyster‐famous seaside
town of Arcachon, a prime resort on
the French Atlan c Coast.
On the following Tuesday the orches‐
tra will play Programme 2 (Mozart:
Overture Magic Flute, Bartok:
Romanian Dances, Lige : Romanian
Concerto, Beethoven: “Eroica”
Symphony) in the Eglise Collègiale in
St.Emilion, a European Cultural Site.
There will be a chateau visit before
the concert.
On the Wednesday (Programme 2)
will be repeated at the historic
Abbaye de Cadouin, in the Dordogne.
The final concert (Programme 1) will
take place in the Eglise de Notre
Dame in Bergerac.

Nachtmusik”
‐ a spontaneous happening ‐
Over the week there will be a dozen concerts taking place
at Domaine du Faure, where guests will stay. These will be
given by some of the best ensembles at Cambridge, plus
some recent alumni, and will take place in the beamed
18th century salon, formerly a granary doubling up as a
protestant chapel. Our chef will look a er you, and local
wines will be plen ful. Sir Roger Norrington, the famed
conductor will be our guest throughout the Fes val, with
his wife. With classical and jazz music, as well as the
orchestral concerts, truly a feast!

ORPHEUS & BACCHUS BOOKING CONDITIONS These conditions, the description of the Orpheus & Bacchus Music & Wine Festival and the further written information supplied form part of the Client's contract with the Company. "The Company" shall mean SARL Orphée & Bacchus, company registered in France, Siret 481 471 464 00018. "The Client" shall mean the signatory to the booking form and everyone named in the booking form or added subsequently.
1. CONTRACT No contract shall exist between the Client and the Company until a booking form signed by the Client and accompanied by the appropriate deposit or full payment if applicable has been received by the company and confirmed in writing to the Client. The Client must notify the Company within seven days of the date of the confirmation invoice if the invoice does not confirm accurately the Client's reservation, failing which the Client shall be bound by the terms of the confirmation invoice. Any amendments must be made and con-firmed in writing. The full price of the Festival is payable eight weeks before departure. If full payment is not made by the due date the Company reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
2. PROGRAMME / ACCOMMODATION CHANGES. The Company reserves the right to make changes to the concerts, the musicians, the cuisine and the itineries if circumstances dictate. We will do our best, but cannot guarantee, to satisfy clients’ room requirements.
3. CANCELLATION BY US. The Company reserves the right to cancel an event if the mini-mum number of persons on which the event is costed do not make bookings. The Company will advise you 56 days before departure in writing and refund all moneys paid to the Compa-ny. You are strongly advised to take out cancellation insurance against travel arrangements you may have made.
4. CURRENCY. Payment is in sterling.
5. CANCELLATION BY YOU. If the Client cancels the event for any or all of the people named on the booking form a charge will be made, depending on the date of cancellation. 56+ days before departure - loss of deposit / 56 days before departure - 100%
6. TRANSPORT. Clients make their own transport arrangements to Le Faure although we will be happy to advise you. Orpheus & Bacchus will arrange pick-up/return for specific trains at Libourne (TGV), Bordeaux Merignac (Air), Bergerac (Air), at no cost subject to schedules.
7. PASSPORTS. A valid passport is necessary for all clients. 8. MEDICAL. Clients are advised to obtain the Department of Health leaflet "Protect your health abroad" and to ensure they are registered for Health Care in the EC.
9. INSURANCE. It is a condition of booking that Clients have comprehensive travel insurance with medical emergency and 3rd party liability cover. The Company will not be held liable for any deficiencies.
10.LIABILITY. The Company accepts liability in the event that the Client's holiday arrangements are not supplied to you as described in the information packs and are not of a reasonable standard. The Company's liability shall be limited to £500/600€ in respect of compensation. Baggage and personal belongings are at all times and in all circumstances at the Client's risk.
11. COMPLAINTS. If at any time you feel dissatisfied, please bring the matter to the attention of Ian Christians immediately. Any matter not reported during the event will not be considered. Complaints must be put in writing within 30 days of the end of the event.
12. RECORDINGS. Some concerts will be recorded for DVD and internet and may include audience images. Under no circumstances may clients record or take photographs during concerts.

Family summer holidays are another speciality, with groups of friends or multi-generation families having rare quality time togeth-er. Finally, we also organise wine-tours.
